But all the better for it. Ironic considering the subject matter, but these paradoxes have a habit of working. Such is the case here. Le Mans is a classic. I'm not sure if I could say it has a story as such, but a multitude of small stories based on individual relationshps. Excellent performances are given by the entire cast, despite the relatively sparse dialogue. And that is a real compliment -to be believeable with little dialouge is far harder than with a volumnous script. One thing that Le Mans does is provide quite an interesting, and realistic snap-shot of GT racing in the early 1970s. Just received this DVD and once I started watching it I couldn't stop. I am not even a rugby fan, but in terms of team preparation it was a great resource. If you want to see all the footage from all of the games, this is the wrong DVD for you. However, if you want to know what made the Lions tick behind the scenes this DVD is a must. Footage from games, training sessions, team meetings, selection meetings, physio rooms, dressing rooms. It has it all.

The last few season reviews have had the luxury of a happy ending with a trophy or two to savour. That said, it hasn't always been of the best quality (last years was the worst for twenty years!). It was with a little trepidation that I realised the same company that butchered last years review had produced this one. Nevertheless, it's a solid effort with little to quibble over apart from no mention or images of any sending offs (including Drogba's slap in the CL final). The match commentary is a mixture of Chelsea TV and Setanta's coverage throughout which is an improvement so I would urge all true fans to buy with confidence
