British comedy, or comedy in general, doesn't get much better "dan dis". It's black, mean, edgy and full of wonderfully embarrassing social situations and tons of catch phrases you'll find yourself using (and I'm not even English-speaker per se!).

The predecessor of this series, the chat show parody Knowing Me, Knowing You With A.P., was also fine (the Christmas special Knowing Me, Knowing Yule in particular), but I think this is a huge improvement from that. This is largely because it's not restricted to that chat show format. In my opinion, this is also of higher quality than the slightly uneven and more "sit-commy" 2nd series.

And what can you say about the main character, Alan Partridge (played brilliantly by Steve ... Read More:

I've just finished watching Season 5 and have to say this was one of the best seasons for me, since Season 1 and 2 (which are still my favorites). Characters come and go, and some missed more than others, but the series goes on in strength, and there's never a dull moment on the estate. Great comedy TV for the open-minded adult.

Everyone tells of how season 2 fails to compare to season 1 and 3, and I have to agree it was not as good! So why do I still give it 5 stars then? Well..... seasons 1 & 3 were easily at least 7 stars!!
An extremely watchable show, and I may have to buy the boxsets again as my constant watching of the DVDs has made the box very sruffy and bent!

Here we go again. Another CSI clone. Haven't we seen this all before? Well actually, not quite. There is nothing quite like Dexter.

Dexter Morgan (played by the outstanding Michael C. Hall) is a blood splatter analyst who likes nothing more than a bucket of blood at a crime scene. Dexter is also a serial killer, or occasional killer, who kills the criminals who escape justic by administering some of his own.

Dexter was a troubled boy, adopted as a toddler and gaining a sister (with whom he now works along side) and brought up by an honest cop, who realised that Dexter was no ordinary thinking boy. Using knowledge and techniques shown to him by his father, Dexter has forged a 'career' as a very tidy and neat monster, as well as ... Read More:

All I can say is - brilliant! Great script and acting. Not subtle humour and mainly of sexual nature but it is witty and the exaggeration of various male vs female psychological nuances makes it hilarious... and true! I would say it's an equally great viewing for both men and women. My personal favourite is "lost in translation" affair between Jeff and a stunning foreigner.

A great series ! Lewis is a joy to watch as it is packed with superb actors while the editor has done his job to a high standard ! The writing is first rate - it is clear that Colin Dexter is exerting a very positive influence on the proceedings ! Robbie Lewis is a more sombre character now that his wife has died and that his best friend Morse has passed away . Laurence Fox has risen to the challenge and is an excellent choice to play Hathaway - had they wanted a sidekick that was totally different to Lewis then they have certainly picked both the right actor and the best possible character . The Fox clan have made yet another great contribution to detective fiction - just as Edward did in The Hollow and as James did in Death On The Nile . Fans of Laurence Fox should also ... Read More:

Much of this season is good old reliable ER, well acted, well produced with a good mix of storylines. The characters (mostly) continue to develop in plausible and interesting ways.

The return to the Congo is well done and genuinely tense. On the other hand the incident with Romano (I won't give it away) is a real low point and whoever wrote the script for that should have been fired. The aftermath is also silly and unconvicing, and indeed some of it not in keeping with what we know from previous series. But that is only one storyline and there are many more that more than make up for that blip in the producers' judgment.

Overall, it may not be as fresh and novel as the first season, but if you're an ER fan then it's well worth buying this season. (I ... Read More:

Since its release I have heard and read mixed reviews mostly bad, these of course are from fans pissed off at the end of season 9! "The Truth" wasnt a very good or satisfying end to the series, as a hardcore fan I can certainly say. I suppose what people expected was something pretty damn spectacular here with this movie. We should expect that its the X Files for Peets sake. But many of the really cool episodes were written by writers other than Chris Carter, in fact I think you will find if you revise all your Box sets that the episodes written By Carter are the most lame. Kim Manners is working on Supernatural, Spotnitz is mostly on bigger movies while the rest are all over the board from CSI, Bones, the short lived 4400 right up to the new series of Fringe. I wasnt expecting anything ... Read More:

Season 9 of Frasier is arguably the weakest of the show so far. I give it only 3 stars, with a heavy heart, but I am judging it against the previous seasons, which have been generally outstanding. There are some very funny moments between Frasier and Niles but you get the feeling Frasier needs to move on.

I enjoyed "Room Full of Heroes", "Bla-Z-Boy", "The Love You Fake" and "Cheerful Goodbyes" but there are no standout episodes of comic farce that would enter the hall-of-fame (like season 4's "Ham Radio" or season 5's "The Ski Lodge"). In fact I don't even remember most of the other episodes. This is due to some weak writing and lack of fresh ideas, which you would expect by the ninth season of any show.

The Niles and Daphne story has now developed to them being an item, but ... Read More:
