I bought the thorn birds series 1 dvds as a gift, and was about to send them back as she said they where not complete when I realized they are double sided dvd's. So she is going to check them out.It would have been nice of Warner Bro to have put a note on the case, perhaps the ink cost to much any way watch this space because if its wrong Ill be back to tell you. ps app it's quite racey!!! prob why my x watched it when I was at work...

A lot of people think this is the weakest of TNG seasons, but for my money it's one of the strongest with good stories and an interesting new group of characters, not all of them making it to later seasons. The problem is that like all the seasons of TNG, the picture quality is ropey. Why spend all that money on sets, actors and effects and shoot it on low quality tape that always looks soft, even on DVD? So not a total recommendation because of the picture quality. Maybe when they get to Blu-Ray they can improve it a bit?

This season has to be one of the best from the show. I think that Miles Miller and Al Gough are doing a great job with their own creative license for the show, Ok they don't take the show where Superman fans would expect, but so what, it's such a new exciting take on the whole Superman ethos. I love where they have been going with Smallville and they are on form this season This season we see the entrance of "The Green Arrow", the hatred between Clark and Lex grows and we see a particularly superb episode that introduces "The Justice League", our future Superman, Green Arrow, Cyborg, The flash and Aquaman. For anyone who hasn't watched the royal family the concept of sitting watching a family who are sitting watching tv may seem very non-comical... however i guarantee you will love it! The casting is genius - led by Jim in his crusty jeans. The writing is amazing - only this show can make you laugh one minute then be near to tears the next. (watch the queen of sheeba edition - you'll see what i mean) Buy this - you wont be disappointed. Enjoy

I don't know how this compares to CSI, since I've watched very few episodes, but, in the UK anyway, typical crime shows like The Bill are very predictable and as mentioned in the title- boring. This is defintely worth the buy, and if you're reading this review, and thinking it's a bit pricey, (which I think in comparison, it's priced modestly, and I expected the box set to cost in the region of 40 pounds) it comes with 22 ~40 minute episodes. I don't know if I need to get out more, but the last time I bought a box set it was LOST: Season One, for about 40 pounds, and it had no were near that many episodes(or I enjoyed it a lot, like this, since I honestly would say it had about 10 if I didn't count each one :P). Loverly jubbly. A great series, always funny, good clean fun, no drugs, no sex, no foul mouths needed to make this a classic.

Ok i'll admit, i didn't watch this when it aired on TV - had all intentions of doing so though, but just never did. God did i miss out, i seen the end of an episode from season 2 on E4 the other day - i was glued. Obviously didn't know who was who and what was what but it was great from the 10 mins i did see. I already like Calista Flockhart from Ally McBeal (One of my favourite US series EVER - Brothers and Sisters now being next on the list) and i also liked Sally Field from Mrs. Doubtfire and E.R and she plays a fantastic part as Nora - for what i have seen, i only bought it the other day. All I can say is that this programme is brilliant. I have just purchased season 4 from the UK and totally enjoyed every episode. Well acted, well written with good story lines. All I want now is season 5 to become available. How long are going to have to wait? Not too long I hope.

Following the hugely impressive 2002 mini-series, Season One, which came out in 2004 started strongly and continued its strikingly retro/realistic look and feel. All science fiction is really about the present and BG in particular has a reputation for intelligent even philosophical allegory of the themes preoccupying modern western societies. Unfortunately this seems to get in the way of telling the tale. Much of the middle of the series was really about US politics, as boring as it was ridiculous. The entire population of the space-bound community numbers is supposedly less than 50,000 making for example a 'press corps' a little unlikely. When I pre-ordered this release, there was scant information on offer; I thought what could be better than a collection of all the festive episodes? Some of the holiday episodes are truly brilliant, like "High Holidays" from the eleventh season. But! This collection contains no "High Holidays"! Why include "Mary Christmas" instead, or "We Two Kings"? Suspiciously-minded as I am, I feel this is to ensure that the recently released season 11 sales figures are not affected...hmmph. Still, it`s all pretty good, the offerings from Season 1, 3 and 6 particularly.
