Another Great Season for The Simpsons. Have been looking forward to this coming out for some time. Can;t believe its taken so long.
I would have given this a higher rating if it wasnt for the packaging. Unlike the other Limited Edition Simpsons boxset (i.e. Homer Head boxset etc) this comes slightly smaller where the discs are stuffed into cardboard sleeves which can be quite hard to get out, and also have to touch the readable side of the disc with your fingers leaving grubby marks.
Also the packaging is very confusing and you are lucky to find the right disc you are looking for, first time.
As long as you aren't fussy about the packaging then this is a must buy!

I remember watching this as a kid and recently saw parts of it again on the History channel and have found it incredibly moving - just the theme music with a series of shocking pictures culminating in the gaunt face of a young girl at the end, is truly chilling. The series examines every aspect and angle of the war in great detail. It does not shy away from some shocking footage and yet never feels like it is revelling in it. It is a serious historical work and yet it never drags. Watching it again I was struck by how many of those interviewed are long dead now, and how lucky I have been to never experience anything like the suffering they endured, and how future generations should never forget the price of their freedom.

Wow! Just when I thought that this show couldn't get any better at the end of season 1, season 2 proves me wrong as this season is just simply incredible.

It begins with the hatch being opened and the first meetings with some new characters, so it's not short of excitement at all. Some questions are answered as the series goes on and some more are created. More characters are introduced whilst others are killed off, which can be quite surprising as some scenes are just so unpredictable. So many more background stories giving insight into the characters' backgrounds are given in the flashback sequences, going even further back into their pasts than just the few days leading up to the flight. Some character cross-overs are also developed ... Read More:

Visit the quirky and cozy dreamworld town of Stars Hollow and you'll feel right at home. I haven't enjoyed a show with such quirky characters since Northern Exposure. The language is fast, funny, intelligent and dizzy but it works. It should have been alot more popular over here and probably would have if it aired in the evening but it feels right it airs during the day for some reason.

Why do most of those that give this series only one star always start by saying " I'm a real SF fan having grown up on blah, blah and this (Firefly) is just **** ".

Well, me to - having grown up with the Masters (Asimov, Bester, Clarke and so-on to Zelazny) BUT I think this is pretty good stuff.

Granted the first few episodes were not so bright (but did you see the first normal Stargate SG1 episode - HA), but then it got into a rhythm. Good stuff.

I haven't yet got through all 4 DVDs - just finished DVD 2, but worth seeing some more.

I'm puzzled by the movie of Serenity - it seems to be a recap of all the characters and some of the plots, with some major changes. But, that's what I saw first - and very, very good ... Read More:

I have always loved this show from season 1 and the quality of writing is the best among all the BBC TV shows. 24 should take a que from this series and make it's storylines more believable.Rupert-Penry Jones is just an added bonus to this show:-) I just wish each season had 24 episodes....BBC listen!

Season 1 got me hooked, Season 2 made me fall in love and Season 3 just made me giddy. If someone told me this show couldn't get better, I would be inclined to agree. At the end of Season 2, House was shot and he asked to be given Ketamine which would help fix his leg. Season 3 starts off with, what seems to be a completely new House, he's happy and he's walking without an aid and doing his job without Vicodin. This is cool, it shows us just how much the leg problems have affected House and his personality. It doesn't last, as within a few episodes he's back to using the Cane and popping pills every hour.

During mid season House also gains himself a Vogler-esque type enemy, only this time it's a cop, and it lands House in some serious trouble. He's constantly ... Read More:

i loved the first 3 series, its getting tiresome now seeing them lose all the time and to be quite honest i think the characters have been exhausted. Jez in particular i find annoying now, its still funny at times, but i fear peep show has run its course, its become a one trick pony. Quit while youre still just about ahead lads.

I missed the entire Battlestar Glactica oeuvre when it came out (indeed the original series as well) but read so many reviews about the allegorical sophistication of BG, I thought I'd better check it out. The obvious place to start is the 2004 mini-series, assembled on DVD as a three-hour feature (and selling for less than four quid on Amazon as I write). Aficionados claim the series doesn't get into its stride until later, but this was for me an impressive opener. The human species is attacked by the Cylons, a robot-race that comes in two distinctive designs; toaster-on-legs and hot, hot humanoid. Thanks to some sexy treachery involving the latter, the human defences are annihilated leaving a rag-bag of refugee vessels, clustered round the eponymous `Battlestar' a sort of ageing aircraft ... I had heard some bad things about this season of Smallville from various people but personally I found this seventh season of the show to be greatly entertaining and definitely the best season so far. The main addition for this season is the introduction of Kara Zor-El, Clark's cousin and future Supergirl. This season also sees the introduction of Black Canary as well as seeing the return of Green Arrow, Bizarro and Brainiac. The season itself is a lot more story driven than some of the previous seasons, with far fewer stand alone episodes.

The CGI in this season is good even if it is slightly ropey in a couple of episodes and the acting on show is the usual mixture of hammy and great. Having said this, the writing is generally good throughout the season with quite a few good Superman ... Read More:
