The Tudors is the best period drama series I have seen on the TV in years! so much so that I bought series 1 and have ordered series 2. I thought series 1 & 2 were both brilliant and now I can't wait to see series 3. I am fasinated by the Tudor years and know alot about them. As The Tudor series progresses, yes there are inaccuracies, but for those compaining about it............ it is SUPPOSED to be a drama series, not an actual history lesson! The acting is excellent, the costumes are amazing and the backdrops, props and scenery are all as one would imagine England to have been like at that time. And finally, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is not only brilliant at playing King Henry, he is gorgeous too so thank goodness ... Read More:

Quite simply this is brilliant. Producing the book as a TV series gave the director the opportunity to indulge in Waugh's lush and vivid text and whole sections of the book are quoted verbatim. And of course, in hindsight, the casting was inspired, with Jeremy Irons as Rider and Anthony Andrews as the rather beautiful Sebastian Flyte. But don't forget such cameo's as Nikolas Grace as the effete Anthony Blanche - masterful! The film I understand, leaves a lot to be desired, so better to buy this AND read the book. You will regret buying neither.

Francescos Venice This dvd is absolutely fantastic,I have been to Venice on several occasions and love the place,this dvd is very accurate and explains history of Venice very well,anyone wanting to go to Venice would be better purchasing this dvd as it will give information what Venice is all about.

This is the only version of Pride and Prejudice worth watching so far, and I can't imagine it being bettered. The casting of the actors is perfect, the writing is as true to the book as is possible and it has been immaculately researched, resulting in excellent, believable sets and locations. Don't waste your money on Hollywood productions. This is produced by Sue Birtwhistle, also responsible for Cranford. That should say it all.

This is British stand up at it's best on TV. It's very similar to "Whose line is it anyway?", not surprising since Dan Patterson created both of them, but this is more spoken comedy and is topical. Most of the jokes are funny, if you catch them. Be warned if you're not British or aware of British politics some of the jokes will go over your head as they make jokes of the leader of the Liberal Democrat party. The best bits were "bad things to say ...", eg things you never hear announced over the tannoy. My biggest disappointment is that there are no subtitles, which means when the comedians are going at full pelt it's difficult to hear what was said (hence the 3 stars). We have just finished watching Spooks 6 DVD set. As always, Spooks has you wanting to watch more because the story lines are intriguing and the action never stops. The only downside is the ending of the series - we now have to wait for Series 7 to see what happens and that is all I am going to say so it does not spoil the enjoyment. With living in Poland, we can only watch Spooks using DVDs. When is Spooks 7 going to be released.

I'm pretty certain if you're looking to buy this, you're not a new-comer to the series, so I won't break it down for you - so many reviews on each season for pick from, I won't bore you. Course if you are a new-comer... sorry. Simply reason for this review, is to tell you exactly what you're getting from this instead of the individual boxsets. Firstly, space-saver. Sounds stupid, maybe, but for those that are racing up 100s or 1000s of DVDs, it's a valid point, (yeah, that would be me, of course) and it is a growing problem. Secondly, you get extras that weren't on the originals, though flipside, if you have the first edition of Season One, (the 'format problem' one in the red case), you miss out on the extras on this, if you're swapping/up-grading). Absolutely hilarious - and like Queen Victoria, I'm not easily amused. All of the characters are likeable and off the wall. I hope they are going to make a follow-up because I would definately pre-order it.
