I have watched Francesco's Venice over and over again, also Top to Toe. I treated myself to Mediterranean Voyage and will watch it repeatedly too. Francesco inspired a visit to Venice, and as a result will make a third trip next year. His home was pointed out to us by our Gondolier, and every time we passed on the Vaporetto, we gave him a little wave. I'd like to think he saw :o) Francesco you are a gem and convey your passion for the history of your city and all things Venetian. You care which makes us care. I confess however, you have managed to tinge visits to Venice with a little guilt. I hope we treat La Serenissima and her citizens with courtsesy and respect. British comedy, or comedy in general, doesn't get much better "dan dis". It's black, mean, edgy and full of wonderfully embarrassing social situations and tons of catch phrases you'll find yourself using (and I'm not even English-speaker per se!). The predecessor of this series, the chat show parody Knowing Me, Knowing You With A.P., was also fine (the Christmas special Knowing Me, Knowing Yule in particular), but I think this is a huge improvement from that. When I heard that Simon Doonan's book had been turned into a mini-series and set in the 90s instead of the 60s I was a little concerned. After watching it, all fears of it being misplaced were gone, and I was left wanting more. I won't bore you with the plot, as that has been covered more than adequately by the DVD description above, but the stamp of quality that the creators and writers of Gimme Gimme Gimme, Absolutely Fabulous and Beautiful Thing bring to this production are to be seen everywhere. I've just finished watching Season 5 and have to say this was one of the best seasons for me, since Season 1 and 2 (which are still my favorites). Characters come and go, and some missed more than others, but the series goes on in strength, and there's never a dull moment on the estate. Great comedy TV for the open-minded adult.

Everyone tells of how season 2 fails to compare to season 1 and 3, and I have to agree it was not as good! So why do I still give it 5 stars then? Well..... seasons 1 & 3 were easily at least 7 stars!! An extremely watchable show, and I may have to buy the boxsets again as my constant watching of the DVDs has made the box very sruffy and bent!

Series two is better than series one by ten billions miles...but it still sucks worst than anything I have ever seen in my entire life. (in this season a person can talk but they are dead, ok that is fine...but then that person needs to give rescue breaths (CPR) to someone...well that person can't do it because they are dead and thus according to the plot can't breath...but that person still can talk?!?!?!?!?!...who ever wrote this show has less understanding of the human body than a muck sweeper in the darkages. As others have stated at only 11 episodes way too short and expensive , but it picks up where it left off , straight into nail biting and exciting action , all in all an excellent series , I hope season 4 has the full 23/24 episodes
