Having seen Baraka on its theatrical release on New Zealand's biggest screen I have been longing to re-capture that feeling of utter awe and emotional connection that occurred when I first saw it. That day has finally come and their incredible remastering and high resolution scanning of the 65mm negative, as detailed in the accompanying mini-documentary, was the final stroke of vision and foresight which will make Baraka the standard by which other analogue transfers are measured. I was, all over again, stunned and amazed by this incredibly beautiful film where every shot is an absolute masterpiece and some of which leave me literally with goose flesh and almost moved to tears by the magnificence of it all. Season 9 of Frasier is arguably the weakest of the show so far. I give it only 3 stars, with a heavy heart, but I am judging it against the previous seasons, which have been generally outstanding. There are some very funny moments between Frasier and Niles but you get the feeling Frasier needs to move on. I enjoyed "Room Full of Heroes", "Bla-Z-Boy", "The Love You Fake" and "Cheerful Goodbyes" but there are no standout episodes of comic farce that would enter the hall-of-fame (like season 4's "Ham Radio" or season 5's "The Ski Lodge"). Season 2 of HBOs excellent 'Rome' continues on exactly were the first season finished. Caesar has been assasinated and the subsequent power struggle once again sets Rome towards civil war. Mark Antony and Octavian must fight for survival and they try to bide for time until they can extract revenge. Once again the acting is hugely impressive and the characters are all deep, complex and highly enjoyable. This is a wonderfull production and its hard to find a better television series. Its not for the faint hearted, there is plenty of blood, sex and violence for the more timid of us to shy away from ..... but if, like me, you like your drama's gritty and realistic then this is for you. Excellent.

The answer is....YES! I think this series is actually better than the first one, which is high praise indeed. The dialogue is more hilarious than ever, there are some great supporting characters and Coogan has reached genius level with his portrayal of Partridge. In my humble opinion, episode 3 ("Bravealan")is the best 30 minutes of tv comedy anywhere EVER. There are a couple of scenes that don't quite come off, notably a muddled scene in episode 6 where Alan guests on a christian radio show. But it's churlish to criticise because overall it's a masterpiece.

Having read the reviews for Kipper I bought this DVD for my 18 month old. He loves it so much it prompted me to add my own review. He is captivated by Kipper, the simple and entertaining stories and the characters. He asks for Kipper by name now and even does a dance to the opening music! He giggles out loud at the hamster in Pigs Present. Its lovely to have a DVD that I can put on for 10 minutes and know that Aaron will enjoy every minute. I would recommend this to everyone.

This is no ordinary DVD. This DVD ran me through a world of emotions and some of the things in it are simply mind blowingly realistic. Scrubs doesnt feel like a TV show the brilliant actors make it seem as if your actually there. Buy this DVD otherwise you will be missing out!!

They should have left it after the 4th series. This feature length episode is confusing,boring and most importantly,devoid of humour.I think i laughed about 3 times in the whole 85 minutes. Rubbish.Even at it's best Futurama doesn't match up to Family Guy or American Dad.

I know that this isnt a review ( everyone has already said how fabulous this film is ) but I would love to know what happened to the actress that played Little Dorrit , Sarah Pickering . I believe that this was her first and last acting role !

Has anyone noticed the DVD cover? I don't think their heads actually match the bodies. Looks like the BBC has superimposed them there. Bit messy really, I mean, how difficult is it to arrange a quick DVD cover photoshoot?

Contrary to other reviewers, we actually avoided the series on TV as we didn't much care for the main players in relation to past performances (or perhaps to be more specific, we didn't like what they were in). The only exception perhaps was Dennis Waterman who has pretty much played the same sort of role from comedy to drama. However, we picked up series 3 on UK Gold, when we were struggling to find something decent to watch one evening. We were pleasantly surprised at how good it was, and it has the right proportions of humour and drama to make you believe in the stories and in the characters. It is not a comedy, as one person suggested, but a series where, despite the somewhat macabre subject matter, we see the human side of the people investigating the cases. People involved in ...
