Lee is a very underrated comedian but not by his peers ; just listen to any of the big names & they all say he's one of the sharpest minds out there. `Dead Set' is a TV show based around a fictional season of Big Brother during a zombie apocalypse. The remaining contestants as well as some of the production team try to survive in the only place that seems safe - the BB house. I wasn't expecting much from this to be honest. I love zombie films but I despise Big Brother but I watched the opening episode on E4 a few weeks back and by the end I couldn't wait until the next night to watch the rest. I've since bought the DVD and watched it all again - it is that good! I thought as it is based around Big Brother it would probably be tongue-in-cheek and be similar to something like Shaun of the Dead (which I love, by the way) but it was more in the style of 28 Days/Weeks Later with its ... I agree with a previous ctitic, this film had most of the ingredients to make a memorable film - except the screenplay. It was fine until a certain point, then went to hell. Don't buy it, rent it if you feel you've got to see it.

Lark Rise to Candleford is a trilogy of semi-autobiographical novels about the English countryside, written by Flora Thompson, and first published in that form in 1945. This is the 2008 ten-part BBC adaptation, starring Julia Sawalha, Olivia Hallinan, Brendan Coyle and Dawn French. This is for me the perfect entertainment. Great filming, great language, style, elegance, human relationships, a world changing, extremes in poverty and richness. A world long gone is brought back. This is no trashy entertainment playing to a dump audience. This is just first class. The cast is just wonderful, all of them, but I have to admit that Julia Sawalha as Dorcas Lane is just fantastic. In a year or hype and tripe at the cinema when all the sequels failed to sparkle and originality seemed dead 'In Bruge' slipped into the multiplexes, under the radar, with very little fanfare and a trailer that did it little favours. By pure accident, with nothing else on at the time I wanted, I grudgingly handed over my cash and plodded to the smallest screen Odeon had to offer. I emerged elated. Not since taking a risk on Withnail and I had I had such fun at the cinema. This was a great discovery and I vowed to spread the word. In Bruges is indeed a rare beast. the film is great and it deserves a grammy. great actors in the film. i love the cats. good old documentary we have here. the making of snitsky's pineapple and many more. buy it with paris hiltons album. paris hilton even promoted this on mtv. she is a great singer. buy her album to day. and tine tuner's album. buy all 3 for just 2 pence.

This type of show does not come along often enough. Well written, superbly acted, fast paced, compelling and thought provoking. You are hooked after the first 5 minutes. It was late and my husband and I made the mistake of thinking we would only watch about 20 minutes of an episode. We were riveted to our chairs for the entire hour. I'm not even sure we blinked. To those having trouble hearing it, on the "Desktop" at the beginning, use your up, down, left or right remote keys and navigate over to the phone and hit Play. It will give you an option of stereo (2) or monaural (I think, the computer voice is hard to understand) (5). We found it easier to understand on (2) stereo. Then pick the episode you want to watch. This is the ultimate collection of the 'Dad's Army' TV series and it is all you could ask for.Featuring every single available episode and also several extras I really don't know how it could be improved upon. Of course some episodes are better than others but when you realise just how many episodes were written the quality and consistancy of the writing is amazing.This box set also includes the three Christmas specials.Quite simply this is classic comedy at it's best and it just has to be awarded maximum marks.Fabulous and well worth spending your cash on.
