Series six does not reallly measure up to the high standards Spooks has set. First of all, visually it's much more conventional than the earlier series. But stories and characters were always Spooks' strongest assets. The stories are just not as gripping as they used to be and they seem to be running out of ideas. The first two episodes are about biological warfare, the third is about chemical warfare. The development of the storylines is sometimes not very convincing in terms of arriving at a solution. Too often there is the deus ex machina which is not satisfying. The characters are interesting as always, particularly nerw arrival Connie. Ros was never my favourite character but now she defintely develops in s very strange way. That in itself ... Read More:

Raiders of the Lost Ark

For all the criticisms George Lucas has received in recent times, we must remember that he did manage to come up with this gem of an idea for a perfect action film, and in doing so he created one of the most iconic action hero's that cinema has ever seen. A role perfectly played by its star, Harrison Ford.
The script, written by Lawrence Kasdan, is expertly directed by Steven Spielberg, who by this stage of his career was firing on all cylinders. He takes Kasdan's script and perfectly balances the dialogue with the action creating a finely tuned fast paced action film.
The opening scene and the `Truck Scene' showcase Spielberg's uncanny ability to create stunning set pieces within his movies. This ... Read More:

Be warned this film is hardly anything like the Spiderwick Chronicles books. My son and I have read all the Spiderwick Chronicles and we found this screen adaptation very disappointing. Where's the dwarves, elves, dragons , the palace of trash and the incident at the school where Jared first meets Mulgarath ? It seems to me that they tried to make the film as cheap as possible using mostly cgi, hence no dwarves and elves and tried to save money by using ,mainly one set (the house and the estate it's on). We also found the relationships of the characters had been changed. Why? There was nothing wrong with the supportive relationship between Jared, Simon and Mallory that they have in the books which you only see later on in the film.
The film could ... Read More:

I can't really understand all the negative reviews here: you can almost hear the comic book guy from the Simpsons declaring it "worst. episode. ever".

The first Futurama movie didn't quite work for me. Entertaining, but it seemed like the writers were struggling to fill the feature length, and chose to fill it with so-so material which would have been cut on an ordinary show (eg. the early "Fox executives themselves fired" joke dragged on far too long).

The second was much better, particularly the first half (the Steamboat Willie spoof, the Deathball scenes, Disco boogie).

The third one may be slightly less entertaining than the second, but still has more laughs than you'll get from just about any show still on TV!

After the great disappointments of the third Spider-Man and X-Men films, Iron Man sees a thankful return to form for films based on Marvels characters. Iron Man is the first film to be funded solely by Marvel and if it is anything to go by then the future of Marvel characters on the big screen is definitely looking up.

Iron Man is the story of Tony Stark, a multimillionaire arms manufacture whose world view is changed after he is kidnapped by terrorists who want him to build weapons for them. Nonce he escapes he decides to build himself a suit of high-tech armour with which he can change the world.

As origin films go this is definitely one of the best with only Batman Begins being better. The film has some truly stunning special effects ... Read More:
