First off I should say that I am or have been a huge fan of 3 out of these 4 guitarists, so I had really high expectations of this DVD. Martin Tayler is one of the most technically gifted Jazz guitarists alive today, and whilst he occasionally trades musicality for speed and dexterity, he is an inspirational player! Martin Simpson is probably my favourite player of traditional music - his style is rolling and sounds effortless, yet at times the complexity of his technique would put even the best guitarists to the test. A great resource for Eurovision fans, basically all the best (and worst - such as Switzerland's gruesome 'Celebrate' and our own risible 'If The World Stop Turning Effort') of Istanbul 2004, including everything from the live final and semi-final shows, but without Terry Wogan's sarcastic commentary. Hope they decide to do similar productions for earlier Eurovisions, such as a double 2002/2003 Eurovision box set for instance.

I haven't got the dvd - so prepare yourself for some potentially useless information, but The Easy Star All Stars was one of the best gigs of my life! Specifically the drummer was amazing, didn't break a sweat... Buy both the albums if you haven't already!

Do you remember the the film where all the sons of the original "Bonanza" brothers got together to save the day ? Well, if you are a fan of The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and you hark back to clear harmony and fine ballad singing then try The High Kings. With a family tradition from The Clancy's and The Fury Brothers this DVD is very entertaining indeed. You will be transported back to the 60s with "The Holy Ground", I remember seeing the Clancy's at The Albert Hall in London and The High Kings do them proud. If you want to hear traditional Irish ballads sung extremely well,then this is for you. I managed to get the DVD from a well known auction web site in UK region 2 if you haven't a multi region player.
