I am always a big fan of the Rough Guide books. They save you so much time, effort and money and have never let me down in the past (onto my fifth one now). So it was with no hesitation that I ordered my Rough Guide for our latest trip to Rhodes. I was a little disappointed that Rhodes did not warrant a book in itself (having been impressed by the wealth of information contained in the Crete edition last year), and that presents my only minor gripe - the main areas had a lot of information, the smaller towns and villages not so much. We tend to drive all over the place exploring the places that others don't see in addition to the tourist areas, but some of the smaller places had only a paragraph or two, where the Crete book would have 2-3 pages ... But the descriptions are much more brief than in the other walking guides and maps rather crude, so sometimes a sixth sense is also needed. And when already in doubt about directions the pictures unfortunately have not been able to help me much.
