Just recently bought the Panasonic EZ47 DVD/VHS Combi recorder from Amazon and am archiving most of my VHS tapes to RAM Discs (supplied by K K Electronics - excellent fast service). Having viewed the discs after copying, the images are superb and the recorder/disc combination does definitely upgrade the image when viewed on a compatible 100Hz tv. The copying initiation with this recorder is simplicity itself and I shall definitely stick to these discs (no formatting etc) for all forms of recording/archiving in the future.

If your looking for a dvd recorder, make sure you get one that accepts these disc's, they are by far more superior to dvd+/-rw's and last longer and use all the room on the disc just like your hard drive on your pc, also I have found that the picture quality on ep is better than on other disc's too. You also have the convenience of recording a programme and watching it from the start at the same time, just like you would if it had a hard drive in it. I would'nt buy any other kind of disc now.

i brought this about one year ago, deciding at the time to do a review after a long time of usage. Anyway, i wont bore anyone with loads of techi stuff but what i will say is that it does everthing that i could hope for. From dual layer films to music and photo backups on CDR'S, this does it all with no problems. At this price it is a steal. Buy one now, you wont regret it!

I've had no problems with these discs. No errors what so ever. I had a bundle of 50 Maxell writeble disc and every one had an error at the beginning.

I would not even bother to waste money in buying Panasonic's favorite format the DVD-Ram, which is a dying format. This DVD-Ram will not play anywhere unless you have a particular/specific DVD Ram player/recorder that would play them such as the Panasonic brand. Do not entrust all your recordings to this format becuase it will not play on any machine and if your Panasonic player should fail at some point, how are you going to transfer your most treasured stuff to an ordinary DVD?

When i opened this item i was suprised to find it in its own casing. I removed the casing and inserted the dvd into my machine, the machine does not recognise this dvd. Now that i have opened it etc i am unable to return it so i am extremely unimpressed with this item as i bought it believing it could be used to record programmes etc.
