I had a couple of issues setting these up. The cables supplied were faulty - If you wiggled the leads then the devices came back to life. I replaced the cables with a different set I had and the product is now ok. I recommended the product to a friend, who aslo had the same problems, not sure if there is a dodgy batch of cables currently being packaged with this product. I used a network cable tester and both cables were proved to be faulty. I have logged two support calls with Zyxel and haven't had any response. This is a shame because when using different cables the product is great !

Here's a copy of an email I sent to belkin Hi, I purchased a USB Switch2 KVM and would just like to say I'm happy, very happy, in fact delighted ! The flipping thing works just as it should. Obviously I'm disappointed I didn't have to download any drivers, or ring technical support, or print out a 400 page manual from a PDF document. I mean. What gives ? Are you trying to start a new trend with working hardware straight out the box. !! Hell even the bubble wrap packaging has an easy open thingy, whatever happened to spending 4 hours finding the super strong scissors and lacerating my hand opening it and then visiting the casualty department of the local hospital ? I bought this instead of getting a CD player for my car, since most of my music is on my Creative Zen player anyway, and have had problems from day one. The sound from the tape itself is loud, the sound cuts out every so often while the tape clicks and makes loud sounds (maybe trying to switch sides), and sometimes after cutting out it comes back at a completely different volume, which could actually be pretty dangerous when it suddenly blasts out the speakers at twice the volume, as well as always having to adjust the volume instead of watching the road. The build quality is also poor - it feels cheap and the cable fibres eventually wore out meaning the volume and balance changes depending on how the wire's bent. Compared to other products on the market you can't get cheaper than this. Is certainly does the job ok. The only issue I have with it is that the button requires too much effort. It's an on/off type click switch and needs to be pressed right into the body of the device to switch it. When switching frequently this becomes a bit of a pain. If this minor gripe doesn't bother you then it's a cheap solution to the multiple input/output device problem.

I have a modern PC and an IBM thinkpad laptop, standard hardware, but I cant get this device to work. The hotkey combinations "beep" but dont actually switch between devices, so I have to use the manual switch button which is too small and tricky to find amongst all the cables. So, not well designed, not working, and going back to Amazon today! Perhaps I am ulucky and got a faulty unit? Will try a different brand next time.
