I have just moved over to Virgin Cable broadband from Orange. As such, my 5 1/2 Dell Inspirion 2350 desktop has to be moved over to wireless or else I will have to run a wire half way around the house. I bought this wireless card on the 5 star recommendation here and elsewhere. It took 4 days to arrive, and I fitted it today. Total fitting time was about 1 hour as I took the time to have a clean-up as well. In reality it is a 20 minute job. Cover off, blanking plate out, carefully slot in the card, and screw it down with the one screw from the blanking plate. I purchased this item because i wanted to take my laptop to work. The software was easy to install. Also the manual was easy to follow. However this item did not work. My computer could detect other networks, but it did not detect the Belkin connection???????? I tried it three times and even tried installing it in my neighbors laptop,no joy so I am sending it back to the seller.

Been struggling with a rubbish netgear on vista 64 , changed to this and so far i'm happy. Good speeds and no skipping when updated drivers were installed.

Absolutely the most seemless installation process(Windows XP 2004). USER FRIENDLY. The WIFI card comes with a large antenna. Its also got seperate Windows Vista process. Started off with CD driver. Only lasted several minutes and with about 4- mouse clicks. When CD process finished, it stated clearly that the PC will shutdown and continue after you insert the WIFI adaptor into the PCI slot. Once card got fitted, i switched on the PC. It booted up as normal with no slowdowns. After Windows XP recognised the new hardware, the next step of the installation appeared without long delays. This started brilliantly, outperforming all previous adaptors for range by far - however, when the first one went faulty Big Box were superb with their service and replaced very quickly - six months later second unit has failed. Big Box offering refund as they don't have a suggested replacement - this is a shame as they have been superb but it would be foolhardy to try a third BT Voyager 1055 with this reliability record.

I bought this card to help me flash my Xbox 360 (Benq drive) I didn't have any sata ports in my motherboard, so I had to buy a sata card with the right chipset (VIA). I found this one, was the cheapest and had the right chipset I was looking for, so bought it right away. And it did just what it was supposed to. Easy to install. It brings a mini-cd with drivers and quick installation guide... I just put the cd, windows recognized the drivers and installed it. Having recived this card I now realise this is two port SATA card. One of the ports can be connected internerally or externally. The "fourth" port is an IDE port. Seems like a pretty deceptive product name to me.

I completely recommend this card, but want to offer my story to give guidance to others. I bought this card to replace my 54Mbps Cable & Wireless card, as I wanted faster connectivity. When I first installed the card, using the installation CD it comes with, there were two options:- 1.) Use the Netgear Smartwizard. (recommended) 2.) Let Microsoft Windows configure the card. I chose the option that was highlighted as being recommended, Netgear, but in doing this upon "successful" installation, I had no IP address, but somehow I was still accessing the internet, then it kept crashing and then eventually it didn't work. I found the Netgear WG511 so simple t0 install on my Evesham Notepad, I just followed the instructions to the letter and it worked first time! So far it has given first class service, I evan tried my Notepad Pc in my Shed and that's some 150 feet away from my house! I cant fault Netgear thus given them 10 out of 10 for how simple it is to use!
