After using compatible cartridges in my old Epson C62 printer I am convinced that they contributed to it eventually clogging up. After purchasing my Canon Pixma 4500 I was determined to stick with the correct cartridges and was delighted when I was able to purchase a full set of cartridges from Free Ink Shop for £36.99 incuding P&P. This was cheap compared to nearly £60 for a pair of genuine cartridges for my old Epson. The results from my Canon are excellent.

I have to say that I ordered this with the colour cartridge on 25th June and had super saver delivery so didn't cost any extra and they arrived today. I can't fault 3 days delivery for no postage cost. The ink works fine and I know that I'm still covered by warranty for using manufacturers goods. I use reviews a lot to decide on what and where to purchase and just wanted to relate my experience which has been first class.

I couldn't have been more impressed. Ordered Monday evening, delivered Wednesday morning and works perfectly (unlike some well known refills). Also 40% cheaper than some high street stores. Highly recommended.

Canon inks are great and this Canon PGI-5BK is no exception. I'm very very pleased with the results and can foresee myself sticking with Canon printers and their inks. I have regrettably tried a set of compatible inks in the past which produced disgraceful print quality, where the colours ran and mixed with each other on paper. They also made a mess of my printer around the area where the cartridges sit in place. I had gone too far with penny pinching, and quickly went back to the Cannon original inks. It took many and I mean many executions of my printer's self maintenance cleaning software to get it back to its 'as manufacturer intended' state, even after I had changed the ink back to Canon originals. My brother recently got a Pixma 6600D and asked me to order a set of 6 carts. Having an account with Amazon I thought these were a good price but ouch - the postage ended up MORE than the price of the cartridges. OK, I should have checked before clicking confirm but when postage on a small package tends to be a few pounds I expected something below a fiver. Having had a heart attack I would feel guilty passing on the postage cost in full so I shall now end up out of pocket thanks to the unclear cost.

Lots of reviews on the silver version of this, not so many on the chocolate one. I SAY chocolate, but its more a dark burgundy really. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me, its different and it looks cool. Looks aren't everything though are they? It needs to perform well too. I used to have a digital Ixus400 which I loved and needed something just as good. This is. No, its better. I still haven't experimented with all the features yet, but its taking some lovely pictures so far. Plus points: It looks great.. It takes great photo's without lots of fuss.. Ordered this item, waited 2 weeks for delivery then they cancelled my order because they say they are out of stock. Looked up this item again and there web page says in stock the only differance is the price is £2 higher. Not up to Amazon standard and supprised they use them.

Good vale. Wouldn't buy anything other than "original" replacement cartridges. Arrived in 24hrs. Very pleased. Will buy again.
