I can't recomend Squeezebox with ReadyNas. Half the time the controller can't find squeezecentre. This happens after periods of inactivity. Once you get it up and running which can be a process of turning the reciever off and taking the battery out of the controller, it's great. But it's too flaky at the moment. Hope these issues get sorted out soon or I might have to stamp on it !It's a pity.

The functions on this unit are great. It has two alarm settings (one for during the week and one for weekends) which is great. The sound quality for the CD player is fine. The setting up was easy thanks to the decent instructions. BUT - I can't use it. There is a low hum emitted at all times by the unit (nothing to do with the CD Player) and because I want it on the bedside table (near my head) it keeps me awake. I have been onto Sony but they are not helpful, advising me to take it to a Service Centre - I suppose it is unlucky that there are none near me. So not a great product unless you are a heavy sleeper.

very modern looking,yet very easy to use. quite a compact unit but pretty weighty...good build quality best thing is the sound...goes very loud and has a good sharp sound let alone when you use the bass setting,gives it an extra kick have played with rock cd's and dance ones i think it's worth 5/5

Ordered Saturday and received Tuesday, for free! Brilliant service and top quality item but for one thing....the length of the speaker cables which are barely long enough to get separation. Why spoil a product for a few pence 'cos at this price anyone would pay more for a few metres of cable.It's not as if such a comment as this is new with Sony products as it can be seen in many reviews of the CMT range. Its about time someone invented a compact DAB aerial as well, instead of having to secure a wire to the wall/furniture/curtain...anything really. The 75 watts of speaker power doesn't sound anything like the volume of my old Technics system but the clarity is amazing. I expected a range of different sounds from the DSGX feature (theatre, festival, bathroom...) and ... Read More:

Overall I'd say that this a good radio/cd combination, easy to use and excellent sound quality considering the speaker size, BUT the Weather Band does not work here in the UK and I feel this should be have been mentioned in the Product Description. One other minor drawback is with the digital display. If, like me, you wear spectacles, but not in the bath, it is virtually impossible to read the finer details such as the track number when playing CDs. I've not used it long enough yet to see what the battery life is like, and just how robust it is in the damp environment of the bathroom and shower, but so far so good. *Update* Two months on and I am still very pleased with this item. I had to return mine, as it didn't work at all using batteries and even using mains it was unreliable - sometimes cutting off for no reason. I bought another (from a different supplier) and the same thing happened, so this one had to be returned too. No way would I recommend this to anyone.
