There have been many suggestions in order to fix the disconnection problems with this piece of equipment but really there should be no need. At first it held the connection for maybe ten minutes. Then it would need to be removed and inserted again to continue. Of course any downloads would then need to start again so I could never get the new drivers! Once I installed new drivers it disconnects after about 30 seconds.

There should not be any of these issues with an expensive and supposedly superior wireless adapter. I expect it to work as it says on the box and not need to spend several hours trying to fix Netgear's problems. I will try the latest suggestions before going at it with a blowtorch and a pair of pliers. Garbage.

I've only had this router a day but so far so good. I cannot comment on reliability but no dropped connections as yet. I bought the Netgear router because my old Zyxel P660HWt1v2 router wouldn't allow any ports to be forwarded (even though it should) to my PS3 - which meant some of my multiplayer games wouldn't work online. Apparently, uPnP (universal plug and play standard, for port forwarding) is not the most robust or reliable of standards therefore for some games/applications ports must be forwarded manually (or your PS3 put in the DMZ of your router, although DMZ is not recommended as it exposes your PS3 to hackers). With the Netgear Router I still have the same problems with certain games not working online using uPnP - it's not the fault ... Read More:

Speaking without hyperbole, I think I can say that out of all the equipment I have bought throughout my life, from toasters to CD writers, this is without a doubt the WORST thing I have ever had the misfortune to waste my money on. With the computer in one room and the wireless router in just the next room, I have never had a signal strength stronger than "poor". My flatmates use different wireless cards and have no problems (just in case you think it's the router). As an experiment, I placed the wireless adapter right next to the router, as in four inches away, and it still couldn't find the network.

It is difficult just browsing the internet as the connection (when available) keeps getting lost. I am very disappointed with Belkin. Particularly ... Read More:

Just couldn't get this to work. According to the instructions it should have done but it didn't. Spent ages fiddling about but it wouldn't pick up any signal let alone mine. It went back.

I recieved this product today and had high hopes due to all the good reviews. Was a bit complicated at first as there were no instructions in the box, I had to assume the manual would be on the installation CD. When I came around to setting it up I got to the stage sayin 'resetting internet connection' (or something like that...) and it has not moved past this stage yet! It says DO NOT CLOSE THIS WINDOW in bold letters and says it can take over two minutes but I have waited an hr or more on each attempt and given up. Disappointed!

I've had this product for over a year and have had sporadic levels of reliability. As the senior tech at Apple advised me yesterday, the 'N' standard used in this product still isn't approved, and is unlikely to be signed off before next year or even 2010. Had it not been for the fact that I'd received the same feedback from Talk Talk I probably would have taken this inf with a pinch of salt but it does make me wonder why Netgear sells product which don't (apparently) belong to a common standard. Incidentally, I have also experienced the same issues with a PC and the matching card. Netgear have some of the best Customer Service I've come across, it's just a shame their products don't match similar quality standards. What a shame that I've had to spend hours on the phone ... Having had an awful experience with the Netgear wpn111 I settled on this as an alternative.

Unlike the netgear this works!!

Installing was confusing but once I just plugged the USB in and let vista load the drivers it worked!

A breath of efficient air!

I have used this adaptor both on computers running XP and now VISTA.
I have had not 1 problem with using on either whatsoever.
Other reviewers warn you about using it on VISTA - well all i did was to plug it into my new DELL desktop and it was up and running in 3 minutes !!
I did'nt need to down load new drivers or anything. So where the other reviewers came across VISTA prolems i don't know.
Great bit of kit.

Read the reviews, but thought I might for once be one of the lucky ones...I wasn't, alas.
This device definitely does *not* do what it says on the tin.
Tried "One Touch" configuration -
Powered up next to WiFi Router;"Find" light flashed; pressed button 10 secs as directed: light stopped flashing (sometimes; sometimes it wouldn't stop at all, sometimes it took much longer than 10 secs); took it 5 yards (sorry, metres - showing my age!) away, well within existing WiFi range; plugged in; light started flashing (i.e. it hadn't remembered the settings as promised); checked instructions; tried again...and again.
Conclusion; DNW fault; Does Not Work. I might have been able to get it going given a fews hours with the manual, but Life's Too Short - especially ... Read More:

This item is amazing, works really well and was set up in 10mins. Please remember you will need to install the Netgear devices in the same room to start. Makes it easier, give them both their own names and IDS that you want. Then seperate them to the rooms you want and you are good to go.

Well done Netgear, only complain is they should be a lot smaller and the net cable could do with being on the top of the device.
