I use these for high power flash guns, portable DAB radio, digitial recording devices and anything that requires batteries to be virtually new for the equipment to work at it's best. The 'life' of the battery is not as good as a top one off the shelf but the re-charge speed is fast (an hour max) and the economics speak for itself. The only down-sides are the charger is pretty bulky if travelling, slower to charge on lower voltage through an adaptor(that is to be expected)and when not used they discharge quicker than normal. Have a few spare sets available to always keep going otherwise there is the hour wait.

I bought this charger months ago, and was always wondering why They took ages and ages to charge, and the Led light remained on. Also two of the points became powdery, and on close inspection, there was battery leakage, so I had to throw out good batteries. I agree with the last reviewer, and thank you Paul for pointing that out. I use a Digital camera and this type of charger is definitely not to be considered, if you can not stand to wait...and wait...

Anyone looking for some good, hardy, solid batteries that will go a long way need look no further. These are some of the most advanced non-rechargeable batteries on the market [hence the price tag]. They can withstand just about anything that you can put them through and continue working even after having been crushed, mangled, run over or put under water for a long peroid of time. The full-body closed metal covering prevents leakadge in or out of the battery and insures safety for the user and others around. I have a power-guzzling digital camera, but even so these batteries last for at least 2x as long as cheepie ones in it; [really - more than twice as long, I`m not kidding]. So for anyone out there in need of some good batteries - get these ... Read More:

I like to listen to audio cassettes on my walkman and Duracell batteries are the longest lasting I have used. No more going from shop to shop to find the best deal, ordered from Amazon from the comfort of my settee and delivered a few days later. I have also purchased a battery tester and that paid for itself already. A battery that has a bit of life left in it can be used for a clock. My local council has a collection bin for used batteries, so... save money, save time, save the environment.

I have owned the previous version (C6X) of the chargepak for around 2 years. Currently it gives around 15 minutes of play before it dies. When I called Pure's customer helpline, I explained that the product was out of warranty and that I appreciated that I would not be refunded. However, the lady who answered was quite defensive and explained that, as the product has a one year guarantee, Pure expect it to last only around 12 months. If this is so, then £30 seems a lot to pay for occasional use away from the mains in one year.

My experience of rechargeable batteries is generally far better - mobile phones, digital cameras and multi-purpose rechargeable batteries. I feel that there must be something wrong with the chargepak if Pure ... Read More:
