I bought this having used Jessops lens pens in the past and been very pleased with them. This one at first appeared just the same, but after just a month of light use it smears the lens so terribly it has rendered it unusable - I had to buy a special lens cloth just to remove the awful blue smears from the lens pen! Having used lens pens for many years I am pretty certain it's not me - maybe I just had a faulty pen, but I certainly won't be using it again. My lenses are too expensive to use inferior products on!

If on a budget this is a must have lens for your dslr. It will pretty much set you up for any shot due to its 70-300mm (105-450mm 35mm equivalent) but obviously if you can stretch your budget, do so. I had this lens some years ago, had to sell to pay for something else. and im looking at buying a new one again, its that good. to sum up for a smidge over £100 its a great lens

This is the natural partner for the 18-55 lens that came as kit with the body. The lens is not actually 100% plastic as most of the people states, it is in part made by plastic, but the part that attacches to the camera body is painted alluminium, it looks and weights like plastic but is metal! The IS is amazing, and the lens very sharp, even at 250mm... once attached to your body, the only limit is your creativity. this is the best zoom lens around for a cheap budget if you own as EOS camera. Best Lens 195 pounds can buy.

Optically this lense does everything it sets out to do, although with some vignetting at 200. However it does suffer from zoom creep, even when new, [I have an e mail from nikon admitting this] and this can only get worse as the lens mechanism wears. Records of lenses sent back to cure this are not good. In short this problem can only really be cured with a suitable elastic band which of course makes a bit of a laughing stock of an expensive Nikon product. The new Tamron lense out soon will have a zoom lock - a good idea for such a long heavy barrel that Nikon should have though of.

I bought this lens about eight months ago for my Canon 350D. If like me you bought the kit that comes bundled with the 18-55mm lens you'll notice there is a big gap when it comes to zoom/telephoto shots, this is a great budget tele-photo zoom lens that does what it says on the tin, and fills the gap nicely. I am an amateur photographer at best and still learning, but after using the lens for a while I was disappointed to learn that the f stop values really do make a big difference - the widest aperture you will be able to set this lens to is 4.0 at 75mm and only 5.6 at 300mm, if your really serious you need a fast lens like f/2.8, and definitely with IS (image stabilisation) - the lens is not that heavy (for me), but during a long ... I have one of these, required if the Wide angle lens adapter Canon Wide Conversion Lens WC-DC58B for PowerShot G7 & G9 - 0.75 x (27mm in 35mm format) which I also have is to be used (also the telephoto adapter Canon Lens Conversion Adapter LA-DC58H for PowerShot G7 & G9 which I do not have). All it does is cover the G9's lens as extended when switched on so the wide angle or telephoto lens adapters themselves can be fitted. The original Canon lens at 55mm max was a bit restrictive when taking pictures from places where it was impossible to get close. I needed a lens that ideally was good for portraiture as well as getting closer to subjects withour loss of definition. This lens covers what I was looking for and picture quality is excellent. Tamron have been making lens's for a long time and I had one back in the old 35mm days and the dedication to producing good quality products continues today. This lens represents such good value for your money and if one bears in mind the limitations of the lack of USM (is that worth 2-3 times more?) it is a must buy for anyone looking to go that bit further than the standard lens. I have recently bought this lens being a recent convert to Canon, and is already one of my favourites! I specialise in music photography, which means high ISO, no flash and low light conditions. This lens comes up trumps in all departments and for small / midsize venues, Crisp, fast and solid, this really is the only lens you will need.

It should have been included with the EF-S 10-22mm lens. Canon is not really nice with its "amateur" customer, even if it is not a L lens it is cheap to not include it compare to the competition.
