I bought the Fish Eye 2 in preparation for a holiday in Paris, and it was definitely worth it. The pictures are brilliant and with the ability for long and multiple exposures almost anything is possible. The Fish Eye view finder is good for those planned photo's where you want to see what you're capturing but it's much more fun to just shoot everything and see what comes out. And the fact that it uses normal 35mm film is also good as it means you can treat it just like a normal film camera, which I personally think should be used more rather than digital cameras. The only downside I have is the position of the flash, this means that for close pictures of people etc there is a shadow on the right of the picture where the lens blocks the flash, ... Read More:

This lomography society camera is amazing fun, and will produce amazing images only limited by your own creativity. However, it is incredibly cheaply made, and clearly mass produced in china for pennies, then sold for a ridiculously inflated price (as with all lomography society products), heavily supported by their hype. As a fun, unusual camera it works well. The on board flash design is flawed because of it's position you will end up with a huge shadow cast across half your frame due to the lens, but perfect-imperfection in your photos is, after all, part of the lomography ethos. I'd give this product five stars if it was half the price, which it really feels like it should be.

The lomography action sampler is a poorly made, highly marked up, piece of plastic junk. I've given other lomo products a lot of leeway given that we're not going for super-pure photographic imagery here, but this item is simply very poorly made and in my case, didn't even last the first roll of film. The low-tech four shutter triggering system seems to be driven by a spring which resets when you wind the film on, which would be fine, if the entire mechanism had any type of quality control whatsoever. In my case, one or possibly two of the shutters get triggered then it whines to a pretty lame sounding halt... This camera was aimed at the "first SLR" market but managed to find its way into the bags of many pro photographers as a flawless back-up camera. I can't say enough good things about this piece of kit - I used mine for about 3 years, have travelled the world with it and it still works as perfectly as the first day I bought it. More than can be said for most cameras I'm afraid. Whilst not as bomb-proof as the EOS 1 (£1500), this camera has done nothing to disappoint me and I have had some AMAZING results from it. The viewfinder isn't very accurate and can result in disappointing prints. In addition, the viewfinder can easily break as it's just a piece of plastic screwed on. The 'scroll' to place the film in is quite flimsy and that can easily get damaged too. Also, you can only take pictures outside as the camera hasn't got a flash function.
