Some people call me "retro" brcause I still use an analog film camera. Surely digital cameras are superb in many situations. Being interested in historic pictures of high quality, I still believe film cameras like Canon's EOS 3000V are good. Pictures that are stored on film will keep for at least 100 years. Enlargements from film are the best. I also like to take black/white pictures, especially portraits. In this case film pictures are still second-to-none. I like my Canon EOS 3000V because it is light weight, takes sharp pictures and it has an array of functions. But I can also make use of automatic functions if a picture best be taken quickly.

The Nikon f55 is pleasing eye candy, it is a nice shape and very good looking camera, but its functions arent all what they seem. The main annoyance to me was that viewfinder, it is rubbish, all blurry at times and you cant focus very well on the wide angle lense they provide you with. The Aperture button and Shutter speed Dial and in an awfully inconvienient place. As of this moment I havent tested the sharpness in the prints.

This is my first SLR had it 1yr n a bit. It goes everywhere with me and is helping me through a BA(Hons)and i love it. Exposure range and apature settings with 100mm lens are great so plenty to play with.
Although you can't use infrared film because of a sensor inside the body.
I recommend this to anyone starting out or just after a good SLR hobby camera.

This was my first SLR camera, following on from a point and shoot Nikon compact. I was prompted to by it by a member of the family buying the F55.

The first thing you notice about the camera is the outstanding quality of the photos it takes. Forget digital, all you need is a good roll of Fuji Velvia and you will produce the most amazing pictures.

The lenses it comes with are adequate for the first time user, and to begin with there was no fault to be found in these, until i was recommended another lens costing about the same as the original package! However, unless you see the better results from a better lens yourself and your photo viewers, unless they are Joe Cornish, will not notice the difference.

The price may seem ... Read More:
