I have a digital SLR but wanted a second camera that was compact and simple to use. I also wanted some nice extra features to make it fun. The Canon IXUS 80 IS was perfect. Things that I like are, great design, solid feel, display information, image stabilisation, time lapse video and up to 15sec of over exposure. Things that I don't like are, Some features hidden in menus, viewfinder is too small and only 32MB SD supplied.

Just about everything has been said about the Canon G9 and there is not much that I can add to the recommendation for this camera especially as I have only had the camera a couple of weeks..and I am still putting it through its paces...I find there is nothing more pointless than a review which says..."I've had the camera for two days and it is brilliant"...only time and usage will tell ...but so far I find it more than satisfactory for my requirements.... This feedback is more about the excellent service provided by Amazon Itself..from whom I purchased the g9....I ordered at approx., 5.30pm one day..and with the express delivery service...my new toy arrived..Intact and well packaged.. before 9.45am the following day....very well done ... I purchased this to replace my (at just 3 years old !) ageing Epson R300 which had leaked ink all over its' insides causing a short circuit which stopped it working, despite having only ever used genuine Epson cartridges, all Epson could offer was to repair it at £70 plus postage ! After studying lots of reviews it was clear that the iP4500 featured here represented just about the best value for money for this type of printer (and from Amazon it cost less than repairing the R300) coupled with one of the highest resolutions of 9600 x 2400. I am not going to knock the R300 as it had always produced excellent results but the Canon offers the same CD printing facility which works first time every time - Epson users will understand ... I recently bought the Canon IXUS 80 digital Camera and I am very impressed!!! I have been looking for a digital camera for a while now to replace my old Olympus digital camera. I have tested a number of cameras in the shops and I think the zoom and the quality of pictures from the canon are much better than the others I tried. I took the camera on holiday and I have some amazing pictures, the camera was able to pick up the colours of the sea really well. The camera is really easy to use and also has a night time shooting mode which actually works really well. I would recomend this camera to everyone.

the card and battery cover is worthy of a 10p toy very poor - worse still mine was deliverd with a fault - strong horz lines across the pictures and total over exposure in daylight. Let see how Canon respond this, one is scrap.

I purchased the IXUS 970IS as a replacement for my 6 year old Canon Powershot A40. The Powershot is still a stunning camera with a picture quality that still beats newer 6 MPixel cameras (it's a 2 Mpixel) My wife however wanted a handbag sized camera that she could slip away on holidays and we decided against using my Canon 400D, and it's associated add-ons, for things such as skiing and beach holidays due to it's bulk. The IXUS is really neat with a stunning picture quality and now comes with an even better price tag (approx £200). It's easy to use and get up and running with simple buttons and controls, which in fairness most modern cameras have. One MAJOR downside is the supplied memeory card. Where on earth do Canon find the supplied 32 MB SD cards ? They are woefully ... Read More:

After having 2 different Epson printers, I was so amazed by the difference between the two. This Canon does not seem to eat ink every time you switch it on. It prints much faster and the prints are also much sharper. Especially when printing photos. Can't really comment on long term ink as I haven't had it long, but so far seems much better than my old epson. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

Well I followed the advice of the other reviewers and bought this camera, and I have to agree with everyone else, it's a great camera. Mind you, I also followed the advice of one reviewer and bought it from Dixons (yek!) for £129 delivered! It seems that Amazon aren't always cheapest, and now that they've started supplying some stuff (including this camera) via third party suppliers you don't neccessarily get the great service that we've become used to so it might pay to shop around. Still a superb camera though!

Extremely pleased with this purchase. Although I haven't tried every feature yet - printing and copying give excellent results - with decent speed. I like the interface to the features and the facility to feed paper from either a cassette or the rear of machine. As other reviewers have stated, it takes about 45mins to 1hr to set-up ready for use, but the instructions and software install are easy to follow. My only gripe and the reason I didn't give 5 stars (would like to give 4 and a half, but that's not possible) is no USB cable is provided to connect to the PC ? Every printer I've ever had previously - provided all the necessary bits - so why can't Canon - especially as it's only a few pounds worth of kit.
