These are well made and fit really well. I am surprised at their quality especially as they are reasonably priced. I use them with my iPhone and the quality is excellent. All round a great package, you can do a lot worse.

Whilst playback of AVI files encoded with either DivX or XviD is pretty good, as is DVD-Video, there is an issue with the TV type output (PAL/NTSC/Multi). As I have both PAL and NTSC DVD's, and AVI files, I set my players to Multi rather than PAL or NTSC. What this should do is send a signal to a compatible TV to change the refresh rate and line count - 625-line/50 Hz for PAL, 525-line/60 Hz for NTSC. However, if you play a PAL DVD/AVI file and then play an NTSC DVD/AVI file the output remains as PAL, which gives jerky playback. To correct this you have to go into the set up options and manually change it to NTSC. If you then change this back to Multi and put in a PAL DVD/AVI the output remains as NTSC, again producing jerky playback. ... Read More:

I bought this when my reliable Daewoo box was rendered useless by a Freeview transmitter update, and what a disappointment! The remote control is a miserable affair, tiny, with totally symmetrical keys so you can hold it upside down and wonder why it doesn't work! When it's working the box is good but it often loses its on-screen graphics and often locks up necessitating the power being switched off and on, it then goes through its start up routine. I think we expect better than this from Philips

I bought this because £30 for 4gb seemed like a good deal. I wanted a basic, temporary mp3 player to keep me going till I've got the cash for a better one. The player is as described by others: quite attractive, small and light, and easy to use. It does NOT have a radio, even if the description above mentions one. But I am tremendously disappointed. The output volume of this player is ridiculously low, at 3mw per channel (compare that to the iPod's 30mw!). It is impossible to hear music anywhere near traffic, on the train etc, and even on a quiet street it's quite irritating to constantly want the music just a bit louder. I bought one of these from Richer Sounds in London. Good points: whilst the screen is of low-resolution it's not as harsh or blocky as many similar screens on budget machines. The player handles the vast majority of DivX files without complaint, though it refuses to play HD files. Bad points: I initially found it unbelievable that this player can't correctly play 4:3 (non-widescreen) DVDs - it will only play them at 16:9. Philips support then actually confirmed the fact: so if you have any 4:3 DVDs they will only play stretched out across widescreen, with everyone and everything looking fat. Note that this problem does not affect DivX playback: the LCD aspect ratio of DivX is selected according to the TV ratio chosen in the player setup. A ... Read More:

I bought one of these and all I can say is it's brilliant! I had no problems getting my computer to recognise it (XP) I've put a few albums on it and have over half of the memory left. I also put a couple of videos on it, obviously they're not great quality, but good enough for an mp3 player. All in all I think it's great value for money and a definate must have!
