I bought the sapphire blue XP version about 6 weeks ago and I am in love with it! I was looking for a laptop for college but they are so heavy and bulky and this is small, compact and so light. In a shockproof case, I can just keep it in my bag with all my books. It comes with all the software ready installed (great for non-geeks like me!) and in 10 minutes of opening the box, I was ready to go. I have typed a full essay on the keyboard (I could imagine chunky fingers having problems when typing at speed), but it is so easy to get used to, even the touchpad mouse works ok, but I bought a USB mouse too. OK, so you have to buy an external DVD/CD drive, but I use it with a memory stick to load stuff from my PC to my netbook and vice-versa. ... Read More:

There's no question that the AA1 is an excellent little computer and the Linpus Lite OS that runs on this version does a good job, provided you follow the instructions on the Aspire One user forum (Google it) and switch it to the more advanced mode. That way, you'll be able to install useful software like Skype and VLC. Its biggest problem is that you can't easily make backups of your installation just in case it all goes pear shaped (accidents can happen). Sure, you can create a recovery drive on a USB stick and re-install the OS from there, but that's going back to the original installation without any of the updates or software that YOU installed before the crash! On the plus side, the Linux is a very stable OS (unlike Windows), so problems are ... Read More:

Purchased one of these (1GB, 120GB version) last week and it arrived yesterday and I must say I think it's great. Not only does it look cool it's really easy to get running and use. Wireless connection was a breeze and basically the thing just works straight out of the box.

To test it out I played some MP3's and tried it with the BBC's iPlayer and it worked perfectly (with headphones anyway, the built in speakers are very poor).

The web cam, contrary to some reviews, is actually really good, I tried it out with the built in messenger and was chatting with my daughter on MS Messenger in no time. As the boot up is so quick the Acer One is the ideal way to stay in touch with friends and family.

Very impressed with this netbook. Linux and the solid state drive makes it very fast. None of the usual going away to make your dinner while Vista boots stuff. Also unlike Vista this connects to the internet first try every time, in airports, in hotels, as well as at home. OpenOffice more than meets all my needs, very easy to use. Highly recommended

This is the first review I have ever felt compelled to write. Having read countless reviews of netbooks, particularly on the Trusted Reviews site, I ended up buying a netbook that had not yet been fully covered and was only available in white.
Purchased from Amazon, my favoured seller, I can confirm that NC10 arrived in double quick time and in good order.
I purchased this machine in replacement of my Eee pc 701 which has been commandeered by my grand children. The NC10,in my view, is faultless. From battery run time to screen definition, to excellent, white, keyboard and instant wireless connection (to my BT Home Hub}. This is a little gem.
It starts from cold in about 30 seconds and grabs the wireless connection atomatically once the source has been ... Read More:

I had one of these delivered yesterday, and am finding it quick, light, quiet and very easy to use. It found my wireless network within seconds of booting up and logged on first time. I have also used it around the house and had no problem when I am away from the router.

Was slightly worried I wouldn't be able to touch type on it, but am having no problems. Also the screen is large enough and bright enough to allow my 40+ eyes to read it easily!

Overall a sexy little machine which is doing exactly what I want it to and which I am looking forward to being able to take out and about, given that I can carry it easily in one hand.

Recommended for anyone looking for real mobile computing power.

I am I suspect the same as many people, all I do is a bit of net surfing, and do the occasional letter or spreadsheet. I have had one of these for about 3 months now with no problems what so ever. The battery life is excellent 5-6 hours, and it starts really quickly. The internet runs fine, and I have no issues with the screen size, in fact I dont even notice it even though when at work I use a standard size 13 inch screen all day. It comes with basic word and excel loaded, so as long as you dont need to do anything over complex it is fine. I know the memory is small, but I have a USB Memory stick just in case, but also I dont really need to load anything onto this. It is perfect for taking around with you and using on the move.

I decided I wanted a smaller lighter laptop than the one I had already and was debating whether to go for Linux version or XP which I was more familiar with.
Decided to take a chance and have been well impressed with the simplicity of Linux interface. Very easy to configure wireless network and email accounts which were my biggest concern! It comes fully loaded with all the basic applications - I'm a new convert to OpenOffice after using it on the Acer Aspire One. Its fab, does everything I need it for and even fits in my handbag! A great peace of kit - Would highly recommend!
