i have had this printer (bought from amazon) for 6 months. i had to give up a lovely epson that had never let me down as it wouldn't work with my new Mac. the very good reviews the nice customers at amazon gave this machine prompted me into its purchase above a new epson 680. the scanner is great. it has beginner and advanced user status and is very easy to format. the prints are super fast although the colour management is not so compatible with the new iMac's monitor, eg, the prints don,t look like they do on the screen. but then i take my work up to a local print shop and they use PC's and the colour saturation is always an issue. i have to drop the saturation by 25% to print out what i see in front of me. altering the colour ... I was looking to replace my Dell printer as it was not compatible with my new mac computer. This Canon was highlighted as a good deal on Amazon - I ordered it and it arrived by return. It was beautifully presented, easy to set up and had the added advantage for me of been compatible with the Canon Image Gateway which I use for my camera. I am pleased with the quality - all that remains to be seen is what it costs on consumables. Based on my experience so far this is the one to go for if you don't want an 'all-in-one' printer fax copier etc.

I bought this all-in-one printer and scanner almost one year ago. I have printed pictures and letters etc with it, and also done a small amount of scanning with it too. It isn't intended to produce top notch prints or scans - for that you'll have to fork out a lot more money that this machine costs - but it does do the job it's supposed to do and it does it well. That is, it gives good general results without costing a fortune. I bought it to replace an older Epson printer and I have found this one gives better quality prints, and also costs a lot less to run as the ink goes a lot further than the Epson model. After my canon iP1500 packed in I browsed the net to find a replacement and purchased an iP 2600 which had several good reviews.My printer arrived post free in 2 days from Amazon and I am delighted with the printer-it was easy to set up (about 10 minutes) and the results particularly photo prints excellent. This appears to be a very good printer for the price especially for someone like me who is not a heavy user and occasional photo printer. I would certainly recommend it-the only downside being the cartridge price but this is on a par with the majority of modern printers.An USB cable is not provided but I was able to use the one from my previous printer

I wanted a printer that worked on a network because I was tired of having to switch on my wife's computer every time I needed to request a print via our wired network. When the old Epson gave up the ghost I decided to investigate Canon printers as they seem to come out on top in independent reviews. I have not been disappointed and so far it has performed impeccably. The set-up guide appears rather awesome initially but if you read through it and follow the instructions carefully you should have no problem. Attaching anything to a network is often problematic but setting up our two computers to work with the printer through our network was trouble-free. Initial tests are very impressive. Great printer in colour and mono. As good as my old Epson R800 (when the Epson was new). One 'funny' though concerning Scanning. The Manual says OPTICAL resolution 4800x9600 dpi. BUT the Scanning options only allow a MAx of 600dpi. Someone is pulling someone's leg here. Contact Cannon Support I hear you say. Well, you try. Round and round and round. Try Faxing them I hear you say. Good luck, their Fax machine has failed to answer in the 5 times I tried. Great Product. Appauling Support. They should be ashamed... unless it's done on purpose?

I ordered this printer together with a pack of KP-108P (which arrived a day before the printer). Although I have only just received the printer, I am very pleased with it in general. I found things very easy to follow using the handbook supplied and have printed the full version handbook from the supplied disc. Paper loading is straightforward and easy, not at all 'clunky' as others have found. I used the paper and cartridge supplied to print from my SD card which was too easy for words. I needed to buy an extra USB cable in order to print directly from my PC, again, this operation was simple and easy, athough I was thrown off course until I realised that the inbuilt visual display will only show a diagram depicting the connected printer and PC. This printer is very nice. A very good scanning and copying function, with a very thorough set-up process. The printer is very quick and efficient with good ease of use with just the press of a button. The printer also has a fax function but I have never bothered to set that up. The only problem I do have with it though is that it uses quite a bit of ink, and the ink isn't cheap. For the price it is at now is very reasonable; it is of very good build, and looks expensive. The unit itself though is quite large and takes up a bit of room. It does also need a USB cable but they are a few pounds also on amazon!

I bought this to print out Census sheets (mainly Black & White) for Family History research which it does very well and quickly. I have printed colour pictures on plain paper with great results - I am using Canon 100gsm paper. A3 paper can be expensive so shop around. Not had to replace an ink cartidge yet so unsure how many pages I will get of what I want to do. So far - recomended.

In April 2008 I purchased from Amazon my MX700, after reading many reviews on various websites, I was reluctant to purchase another brand having always bought HP printers. The reason behind purchasing another brand, was due to conflicts between two HP printers on my wired netwotk, which HP support could not overcome. I certainly do not regret the choice, I have found my MX700 excellent. The initial installation needs to be done carefully following the instructions given by canon. My MX700 is installed on my wired network, and is easily accessible from my PC and laptop. This machine has several features not common in other printers in this price range.
