This laptop was an upgrade from my dell inspiron 6400, and my first experience with Vista (something I was unwilling to try for a long time). The FW11E is an impressive notebook to look at, very sleek design. I do like the latch-less design, and the power button on the hinge. However, as one of the previous reviewers mentioned, I don't really understand how Sony made the mistake of placing all 3 USB ports in the same area, which also turns out to be one of the worst areas to place a USB port in the first place! Its perfectly fine if you don't use a mouse, but the USB plugs do get in the way if you do what a lot of people decide to do when using the laptop at home, which is plug in a mouse, and several other USB peripherals. I needed a laptop that would allow me to edit digital video and photo's. This Sony fitted the bill. I was not too bothered about playing games other than MS Flight Simulator so the less than impressive video card was not a problem. I have had it for over a month now and am delighted with it. The bundled software has proved very useful, as has the Bluetooth connectivity. Sony products may cost more, but they work! The model above the AW11XU may have an LED display but it costs double. Buy this laptop and know smuggly you have the best there is (well almost :) ) My vista subscore came back as 5.4. Processor 5.4; Memory 5.9; Graphics (Aero) 5.9; Gaming Grpahics 5.5; Primary HDD 5.4 NB A subscore of 6 is the highest score currently attainable, until new, faster CPU/Memory is launched.
