after researching for hours, trawling the internet for reviews of monitors i decided on this. despite the good reviews, i found three main reasons why this monitor is not all its cracked up to be Colour: the monitor comes with pre-configured options for use with games, photos etc... but all options make their target look either way too contrasted or way to dull. although there is a manual config it still does not display the colours to the best they could be. Bought on the Sunday, delivered on Thursday morning thats good for here in the Channel Islands. Set up the monitor pluged it in and away you go. Picture was good but not perfect, I couldn't set the resolution to the recommended 1440. After a bit of thought found my Geforce graphics card had an update available, downloaded it and what a difference, colours great and every thing very sharp just by pressing the "Auto" setup button I paid a very good price (Bought while on Special Offer) and fast delivery, Recommended Steve

Thinking of buying this monitor based on the good reviews I have read on Amazon. One niggle is people's apparent ignorance of how screen sizes work. They are always quoted 'on the diagonal', so if you do the Pythagoras (good old maths again!) on a 16" X 10" screen size, you come up with 18.6....so nearly 19". You can't just go on the width and height, as certain reviewers seem to have done, and then crticised the display for being too small. It is what HP say - 19". They couldn't say it was if it wasn't. Otherwise we'd be into Trade Descriptions act and all that stuff. Have now bought this item from Amazon- best deal when yo take into account free shipping. Others seem a bit less but then add about £8/9.00 carriage ... Read More:

We also spent a good while trying to get the best monitor. It didn't have to be the cheapest, as there were cheaper models, but it did everything we wanted, especially the HDMI input. We were very happy with our purchase until after about 2 months a pikel died and we now have a red dot on the screen, and there is nothing we can do about it. Just a piece of advise... if you buy ANY TFT screen, you could have up to 14 dead pixels scattered across the screen, and you could return it or even have it replaced. At 15 dead pixels the manufacturers warranty will then sort it out, but believe me, one dead pixel is annoying enough! I thought more of HP.

This is also the first time I've had a widescreen pc monitor and it certainly brings a new dimension to how everything displays. This came with everything I needed included in the box, and was very easy to set-up. I find the design very smart, and easily adjustable, with full tilt control. It also is technologically smart, and it auto-adjusts to the best settings without the need to install any extra drivers, etc. I'll never go back to square monitors!
