I've had my EX475 about a week now - everything is set up and working nicely. Have fitted a 1TB External USB HDD to back up the server itself. Strangely, it seems server back-ups have to be initiated manually, while client back-ups are automatic on a schedule. Also strangely, it is not possible to connect a printer to the EX475 using the home server console. I managed to do it, but I had to use the Terminal Services program which is not recommended. Perhaps they will add this feature - saves buying a network print server or having to leave a machine on all the time. I bought this to used with my pixma mp610. I wasn't sure if it would print word documents as Canon had told me it would only print jpegs, but it prints everything. It's really fast, just as fast as wires, unless you are printing photos, then it is painfully slow, but it gets there. I am using Vista and there are no compatibility issues. I use it with the belkin F8T012 bluetooth adapter for my laptop and the pc autodetects and installs the printer when you connect the bluetooth adapter.

Well, looking at the other negative reviews, I hate to be a killjoy but mine seems to work on my small home network of a laptop, two PCs and now a wireless printer!! I'm not a newbie and also not an expert by any means (the best description of me would be a grumpy 60 yo with little patience). I will say, like a lot of computer equipment, the instructions could certainly be clearer and not assume any prior knowledge of the subject. I had a problem when loading the Print Server drivers to a second PC as they were rejected as "Unsigned" and promptly made the PC hang. I had to uninstall in Safe Mode but the second install worked. Yes, only 1 user at a time can be "logged on" to the Printer and the default position is that one is disconnected from ... Read More:

...in fact, even better than I thought, since (as with the previous reviewer) it came with a 500W PSU. Feels slightly flimsy in places, but that's not really a problem - and for under £30, it's surprisingly well-designed and made. One minor caveat is that the PSU (on mine, at least) appears to only have one SATA power cable, so multiple HDDs could be slightly awkward without some sort of adapter. And I think it still warrants five stars.

I am now in the process of packaging it up to send back to the seller. Would advise anyone thinking of buying this to visit the website first to check compatibility as there no updates for other printers or the Vista operating system.

I bought one of these factory refurbished print servers from Trusted Goods and it arrived very quickly. It is small and discrete and can be placed well out of the way. It came in a plain Netgear box with a power supply and a USB lead (actually, an ethernet cable would have been more useful), but no manual or software. These have to be downloaded from Netgear's website. Installation was straightforward and painless and very soon I was printing using my laptop anywhere in the house. There are, however, a couple of pitfalls to catch the unwary. Firstly, there are two versions and very few printers work with both.
