I bought one of these displays a while back. It was a bit of a stretch on the pocket at the time, but it's a pleasure to use every day. Definitely worth the extra money. As someone said (don't know who) "The bitterness of poor quality endures long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten." : No such worries here. Enjoy!

After using my Sony SDM-HS73 17" monitor for around 4 years, I felt that an upgrade was needed, especially since my 13" macbook only supported a 1024x768 resolution on that screen (blame the mini-DVI-VGA adapter). After a long search for suitable 20+ inch widescreens my choice was narrowed to the Apple 23" HD Cinema Display and the BenQ FP241W 24" display. The BenQ, despite being a similar price and having more inputs (HDMI support, DVI, VGA etc.) through many of the forum posts I read appeared to cause problems when connecting to any games consoles or freeview boxes, so the apple display won out. Over the years there have been a lot of products that promise to transform the way you work. PDAs, operating systems, smart phones... they all disappoint. This doesn't. You can have 3 different documents open at once, more if it's plugged into a laptop or you use a 2nd screen (I used 2 cinema screens for a bit: you could see the lights dim all down the street when I booted my rig up in the morning). I get sooo much more done, so much more quickly now. And it's just a pleasure to sit in front of. Every morning I sit down to work and I just smiiiile. Using a 30" is completely different to using, say, two 20" monitors. Everything is in the same place, you're not constantly looking at a central bar. If there's one ... Read More:

The screen is surprisingly light considering the size. It stands on a single bent aluminium stand and provides only tilt adjustment, but slides smoothly on the desk surface to provide lateral change (though the viewing angle is very good).
