Hi, Just thought i'd leave a quick review for the Garmin Forerunner 50 inc USB ANT Stick. I bought this item from Amazon along with footpod, heart rate monitor and bike GSC10 speed sensor. As usual Amazon delivery was faultless, all arrived safe ontime and well packed. The Product, well i have to say the instructions with the watch are not the best, but within an hour i had everything setup for my profile on the watch and using the Garmin Training center software (quick download from there site) on my pc laptop. PC software drivers all loaded first time and very quickly and very simple to understand the Training Center application. The Garmin Nüvi 300 (which, by the way doesn't have bluetooth) does what it says. Reliable, easy to use, small and seems well built. Connects to a Mac, which in my world of 'ah...except it won't work on a Mac' deserves a mention in it's own right. One word of caution, this particular product is 'newly overhauled'. I have this very product and before it was newly overhauled I can only guess it was it was someone else's. Not a problem, as it looks brand new, you'd never know, unless you want to register it with Garmin and the previous owner already had. Not to worry though, after two emails and one scanned copy of my proof of purchase, they deleted the old registration and I now have mine registered with a free software update. Quick, painless ... Having never used any other device I cannot offer a comparison but I am delighted with this piece of kit. I would swap this for my ipod if I had to as it is the best running companion you could wish for. The "virtual partner" is fantastic and keeps you motivated to stay with the pace all the way. Being able to see your heart rate, calories burnt, distance covered, pace, time, gradiant and so much more during your run is invaluable. The on-line graphs are brilliant as well. I think it's my new best friend. I find the only downside is if it rains and then the bezel takes on a mind of it's own, jumping from screen to screen over and over. That's the only reason it's not a 5 star rating.

After reading so many reviews of the TomTom and Garmin's I settled for the manufacturer associated with GPS since its inception and I have been thoroughly delighted with it up to now. I tried a colleague's widescreen TomTom but I found it too bulky and the general map display showed far too much detail, with irrelevant information dotted around the screen. Do you constantly need reminding of when you set off, or signal strength (surely if the map is moving when you are it is obvious there is a signal present). It seems that every conceivable need and convenience has been well thought out on this Garmin unit. For example, the screen automatically changes the background colour of the map from white when it's daytime and ambient light is bright, to dark blue at night. ... Read More:

Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS Navigator I bought one of the original eTrex devices about five years ago but the current model (eTrex H)is a completely different animal. The appearance is identical to the original, but that is where the similarities end. Garmin have done a great job of removing all the problems with the original eTrex. It's now very responsive and usually takes less than a minute to find satellites from when you press the power switch. Accuracy is usually well within 10 metres even in normal mode (ie without WAAS). The signal is retained under tree canopies though I have not yet tested it in deep forests. Battery life is fine for a day on the hills though the claimed 17 hours seems optimistic. Garmin Forerunner 205 - GA52I have had mine for a week and have found it is fantastic. I have run 5 marathons, countless half-marathons and now, at the age of 78, I walk some 130 miles a month. How I wish I had had this when training for my marathons. Read the blurb and you will see only a small proportion of what it can do. Three screens, each of which can have a variable number of panels. The display is really clear, even to my aging eyes. My only complaint is that the manual could be clearer and fuller. But if you are computer literate, there should not be any difficulty. It looks very simple, and is easy to use. I was happy to see that you could change the mapping options, from the perspective view, to a view from above, where the map moves under the car, and another view from above where the car moves on the map (which is aligned north), which is my own setting. Second to this the voice commands are clear, and the display is excellent, even in extremely bright weather. The night mode inverts the map, so that it doesn't glare, and this turns on automatically.
