This really is a brilliant printer and copier (I haven't used the fax so can't comment on that). The print is crisp and clear, it's quiet and quick. I like the fact that it has USB ports for cameras etc., and also memory card slots so you can print directly from these. It has an easily accessable feed tray positioned at the top of the machine (on the lid of the scanner) The control panel is intelligently positioned on the front of the machine and is easy to use (even without reading the instruction manual first!) BUT..... It comes without a connection cable! So after I'd carefully sorted it all out, loaded the software into my PC etc. etc. etc. and excitedly went to connect it ... Read More:

I bought this printer to replace a very old Lexmark. I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. Easy and quick to set up - and having read reviews, I was set with a USB cable. The print quality seems excellent to me, although anything made in the 21st century had to be an improvement on it's predecessor. Prints photos, and documents to a very high quality. So far no complaints whatsoever.

Having used a Black and White Laser at home for years I decided to get a colour machine to save the cost and bother of running ink jets. This particular printer is excellent and suits me very well. It arrived well packed and was in working order. It was easy to set up and install. It produces very high quality black and white or colour pictures very fast and without fuss. You do have to be careful to specify any special paper that you may be using (eg photo or card) When I first tried photo paper, I forgot to do this, and picture was a total mess that jammed the machine! I bought this last week, and within minutes had it working on xp (bearing in mind the comment to let xp install it and not work directly from the cd), and also on leopard (driver downloaded from canon, it's not on the cd). It prints nicely, including photos, although obviously if you want photoshop quality it's not here, but it's perfectly good enough for me. I'm very happy with it.

Great, super-fast service from Amazon. Printer arrived yesterday. No included driver for Mac OS X. 24 hours later, using the driver download from the Canon site, I still haven't managed to get the unit to run reliably, in fact barely at all. I'm an experienced user of this tech and haven't had to mess around, with zero progress, like this for a long, long time. This is very frustrating as the few pages I have coaxed out of the machine look very good. I'm just wondering what to do next. Canon support poor. Update: 12th October 2008 - I have now run the printer from an Windows XP machine. The results are very good, processing / printing speeds are more than satisfactory with appropriate reliability.
