The router was fairly easy to set up and maintains connectivity well. However, coverage to some parts of my house is patchy (eg I have to leave the doors open to maintain connectivity). I decided to change the antenna for a more powerful one - a commonly-suggested means to improve coverage. The trouble is that the currently shipping version (v4) of this router has a fixed antenna that CANNOT BE REPLACED. Earlier versions allowed replacement.

Installed and used 3 of them over the years, in different PC's, XP, Vista - no problem at all. Much better connection than my Belkin adapters-I threw those away and replace with these

The best router I've ever used. Plugged it in and it worked immediately with virgin broadband. Took less than 15 mins to get it working with 1 wired & 1 wireless connection. Strong signal everywhere in house. No knowledge of networking needed to set this up as it does all the work for you.

I bought one and it worked great...for about 2 weeks. It seemed to have completely died. No light, no life. Amazon quickly sent me a replacement, great! The second one worked great...for about 1 1/2 weeks. Same thing, no light, no life. I haven't even gotten the first one in the post back to Amazon. Now I'm out of pocket for the return mailing costs for two of them. It obviously works for a lot of people, but, sadly, I'm not one of them.

Worked fine, but never after a reboot. My advice is to download the latest firmware from Belkin - for mine (v3.xx) this was f5d7050v3_ww_03.00.02_w2.exe This has a much better Wireless Configuration GUI and you shoudl be fine - even so, I configured (via the new GUI) so that Windows XP manages the WiFi connection in the normal way. Now all is fine, even from reboot. Works great apart from this caveat.

I am a total novice regarding IT stuff, I had this connected set-up and running in 20mins. Thought is was going to be a nightmare but set up CD was brill. Kids well happy, strong signal and good connection speeds.

it died just over a year old what more can i say the worst netgear product i have ever brought.

I rarely review items on Amazon, but felt compelled to write a short review of this product to counter the other rather negative reviews. I bought this, after reading high praise on various websites such as pc pro, to replace an aging BT voyager router. This is not a router for the technically timid. Setup involves an awkward looking web-based config - however, once you obtain the right settings from your broadband provider the fields are easy to fill - in fact, for me the default settings "just worked". There is a CD based config package which is PC only. As a Mac user I couldn't use it. Perhaps this makes the config easier. One further potential problem for the wifi newbie. Linksys WRT54GL-UK, Wireless Access Point Router w/ 4-Port Switch, Black/Blue Had it up and running in 20 minutes on Virgin Cable. Set up was easy to follow, and I did not encounter any difficulty. I've been using it constantly over the past few months without any issues. Connected to it are the following: 4 desktop PCs (2 are wireless - 2 using Ethernet cable) 2 Laptops (wireless) 1 Xbox (Ethernet cable), I PS3 (wireless) and 1 wireless internet radio. I know it's a lot, but I have a family the size of The Waltons!!. I am on Virgin's 10Mb broadband. Completely Unreliable. Work for 2hours at a time. Need rebooting my PC with Vista every 2 hours to get connected. uninstall and re-install 3 times and no luck. Returning to seller (which is in France!) requesting full refund. Don't buy it. I would give no star if there is such an option
