This works faultlessly with the DIR-655 router I bought to go with my 20MegaBit connection. The ease at which I was downloading wirelessly at 2.5 megabyte/s from fast websites was impressive. I would advise getting adapters from the same manufacturer when considering wireless-N products to ensure compatability.

I installed this, loaded it, and wrote a rave review.

Then I discovered that when I started my computer, the link was dead and the TP-Link desktop icon didn't lead me to anywhere useful. I needed to reinstall every time I started up (took about 5 min, including a reboot), or even on reawakening the machine (an old Dell Latitude) from hibernation.

At last, I worked out how to do it: delete the TP installation altogether, and, ignoring TP's instructions, reinstall using the Windows option. (You will need your hub key for BT; also the TP-link disc).

Now the Windows link is permanently in place, the TP-link icon absent, and the card works fine without my needing to restart it.

But I'm keeping the ... Read More:

This is a great PCMCI wireless card, which performed really well. Just as good as most more expensive cards. THe only grumble I have is with the supplied software.... the install instructions suggest using the supplied software (rather than Windows) to control your wireless set-up. Though in my experience the supplied software just hogs processor time. Though reverting back to Windows control solved the problem.

Don't be decieved by the low price of this item. It works well, and much better than some well-known brands that I have tried. I was pleased that it boasted WPA encryption and delivered.
One note of caution. My laptop runs WinXP SP3 and there was a conflict with the supplied management software. When I installed and chose the option to "load drivers only" the device worked like a dream.
