1.Eikon Digital Privacy Manager (USB fingerprint reader) - works with Firefox, Windows Vista, and now Mac from: UPEK
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Electronics : Eikon Digital Privacy Manager (USB fingerprint reader) - works with Firefox, Windows Vista, and now Mac

This small, stylish reader work well with Firefox 2.0 and Vista Ultimate 64 bit (software included with purchase).

Gets the master finger reading within 5 swipes, from then on, it reads your finger or fingers every time, almost without fail. Able to store username, passwords and any other details you want to keep secret. Just a swipe at any password protected site gets you logged on.

Because it's a swipe reader the fingerprint cannot be lifted and reused, unlike some other readers.

This device has saved time and frustration from not remembering my password for a site.

Oh, it has a protected folder too, just in case you want to keep secure details to hand (or to finger).

The fingerprint security and software does not work with the Mac operating system. You have to try repeatedly to get it to read your fingerprint in windows which is annoying. I would not bother getting this for the fingerprint security. Buy a cheaper USB stick and password protect it instead.

I'm delighted wih this hard drive: everything worked perfectly from first instalation. Even the fingerprint swipe is easy and works a treat: which is more than I can say for my Vaio PC's fingerprint reader. Probably would have rated it a 5 star: but there's always that niggle that there's 'something new just around the corner'.

Great product, and it works. You can assign your 8 fingers and 2 thumbs to it, or assign somebody else's prints to the other slots (there are 10 slots).

Note that you have to swipe your finger (slide it across the golden strip) rather than just put your finger on for a second. It recognised my index finger print easily and works every time.

One problem is that the fingerprint authentication software doesn't seem to load up on the computers at my school. What is does is create a virtual CD drive (which it does on the school computers) which then allows it to autorun the exe for the software (which is on the virtual drive). Even if I copy the files to the computer itself, the program still won't start up. Looking at a review on ... Read More:
