Electronics : ION - iTTUSB-05 USB Record deck

Purchased this through ACS Media on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace and item arrived swiftly and in perfect condition.

I'm not that technically competent so a brief teething trouble (I had to disconnect my webcam to allow the turntable to be heard) was swiftly resolved with a quick call to the Ion tech helpdesk (although they're only open during office hours) who were excellent.

The software takes less than 30 seconds to install and is extremely simple to use. I've not had the need to try the advanced software as yet, but played back through iTunes it sounds great to me.

There are also leads to attach the turntable to your stereo so can use as a separate also for playing old vinyl records via an existing sound ... Read More:

Electronics : Zoom H2 Handy Recorder with 4GB Card, Stand & Silicon Case worth £20
Excellent little device and very easy to use. The insructions are well written and within a few hours of use you can pretty much understand all of the basic recording functions and have the device connected to a computer to download your first files.

I'm using the recorder to keep a record of rehearsals with a variety of bands from guitar duo to a full 5 piece. The quality is always good with almost no messing around. It doesn't seem possible to make a bad recording.

Recording your rehearsals and performances is the best way to appraise your progress as a muscian. Don't delay and buy one today!

I just took a job that requires me to record lectures, presentations and one-on-one interviews. My old Sony cassette recorder quickly proved inconvenient for the purpose - if only in trying to keep up with its endless demand for batteries and blank tapes. Reviews of this recorder inspired me to give it a chance.

I fully expected the sound quality to be better than the cassette recorder, which added hiss both during recording AND playback. But the sound quality is better than I had hoped for. Last night I recorded a lecture where the speaker did not use a microphone and I had no hope of getting near the front of the room. I set the recorder on my knee and hoped that would be enough. The result is a recording that, while not perfect, leaves every ... Read More:

The quality of the audio recordings that this little device produces is astounding for something so small. Its memory capacity and battery life are huge. It is sturdy, small, lightweight, well-designed and very easy to use. I have used it for recording everything from interviews to symphony concerts and it has coped superbly every time. The recording quality is far superior to anything I have heard from a tape recorder and the files produced can (if they are not too long) be e-mailed easily to anyone who needs them. I would happily give it 5 stars on every scale I can think of.

Amazon had an excellent price on this (the 512mb model costs more in some places). I used it for a conference, recording 28 talks in 2 days. The battery gave up on talk 29 but as meatloaf never said 28/29 ain't bad. I was sitting three rows from the front and used the built in mic to record in stereo HQ. Overall the recordings were pretty good, the major determining factor for quality was the diction of the speakers. Some had loud clear voices that made for great recordings whereas others mumbled and background noise became intrusive. An external mike would increase the quality of the recordings. Overall, very satisfied but the instructions that came with the recorder were laughable. You can download a full manual in English from the US Olympus site, but I can't ... Read More:

7.Audio ION Audio Tape to PC Casettendeck USB from: Ion
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
Electronics : Audio ION Audio Tape to PC Casettendeck USB
I've been using this Audio ION Audio Tape to PC Casettendeck USB for a couple of weeks, and think it is a good product.
It is true that you don't have to buy this if you already have a good cassette deck, the cables required, the software and the technical know how etc.
However, if you don't and you want a well priced and easy to use solution for downloading cassettes to your PC, this product gives you what you need.
There IS automatic track sensing (one reviewer says there isn't), so you don't have to sit by your PC when downloading tapes. It even uses Gracenote to find track titles for you (although this does not work for all albums).
Just make sure you download the latest software and reset windows default Audio devices before using. Full ... Read More:

8.Numark TT USB TURNTABLE WITH USB AUDIO INTERFACE from: Numark

Electronics : Numark TT USB TURNTABLE WITH USB AUDIO INTERFACE
Great product easy to use with great sound quality.

Don't know how anyone broke a stylus in 20 minutes. However, as this is a Numark you can buy replacements if you do the same, or much more likely when you wear out the original, for around £8 on a host of web-sites. Even a replacement cartridge is only around £12 online.

It is a disadvantage not having a dust cover so I bought an OK one for around £13 from a US supplier on Amazon markets (look under Numark TTUSB / Ion ITTUSB Dust Cover which takes you to a supplier called DigitalDustCovers).

There are a few direct competitors for this (from Stanton, ION, OEM models & even a much pricier, more featured Numark model) but this seemed to best value from websites and once I got it the only ... Read More:

9.Boss Micro BR Multi Track Recorder from: Boss
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
Electronics : Boss Micro BR Multi Track Recorder
Agree with most of these reviews by people - it is good value BUT not that quick and easy to get to use. I fiddled around for ages as the prerecorded demo song kept playing when I wanted to create a rhythm patten. I ended up erasing it. I then could not get the patterns to play - even though I followed the instructions. So, be prepared to tear your hair out for a while!
Do not like the inability to record two tracks at the same time. It is very inconvenient to me who likes to sing while I play. So verdict is that this little gadget is quite frustrating to use.

10.Boss BR-600 Digital 8 Track Recorder from: Boss
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Electronics : Boss BR-600 Digital 8 Track Recorder
I've had my BR-600 for about a month now and have been really pleased with it. I spent a while researching what was available and, most importantly, worked out what it was that I wanted from a digital multi-track. If you don't know, then chances are you're going to be disappointed.

I'm an ethusiastic guitarist who plays a lot of different styles and wanted a way to develop stuff on my own and have a bit of fun with it. I don't need the ability to record numerous instruments simultaneously, so number of inputs was of little consideration. I also just want some good quality recording, but with no need for 'super' production quality - as long as I can burn it to a CD and enjoy it myself and have something I can play to a few friends, that will do me.

What the Boss BR does ... Read More:
