Hi, Just thought i'd leave a quick review for the Garmin Forerunner 50 inc USB ANT Stick. I bought this item from Amazon along with footpod, heart rate monitor and bike GSC10 speed sensor. As usual Amazon delivery was faultless, all arrived safe ontime and well packed. The Product, well i have to say the instructions with the watch are not the best, but within an hour i had everything setup for my profile on the watch and using the Garmin Training center software (quick download from there site) on my pc laptop. PC software drivers all loaded first time and very quickly and very simple to understand the Training Center application. Having never used any other device I cannot offer a comparison but I am delighted with this piece of kit. I would swap this for my ipod if I had to as it is the best running companion you could wish for. The "virtual partner" is fantastic and keeps you motivated to stay with the pace all the way. Being able to see your heart rate, calories burnt, distance covered, pace, time, gradiant and so much more during your run is invaluable. The on-line graphs are brilliant as well. I think it's my new best friend. I find the only downside is if it rains and then the bezel takes on a mind of it's own, jumping from screen to screen over and over. That's the only reason it's not a 5 star rating.

Garmin Forerunner 205 - GA52I have had mine for a week and have found it is fantastic. I have run 5 marathons, countless half-marathons and now, at the age of 78, I walk some 130 miles a month. How I wish I had had this when training for my marathons. Read the blurb and you will see only a small proportion of what it can do. Three screens, each of which can have a variable number of panels. The display is really clear, even to my aging eyes. My only complaint is that the manual could be clearer and fuller. But if you are computer literate, there should not be any difficulty. Used to have a basic polar HRM watch for running until strap broke. Been looking forward to Forerunner 405 but not impressed by reviews so jumped at this "deal of the week" offer! Managed to buy watch and heart rate monitor + footpod strap for ~£65. 1. Looks good as a normal watch 2. Straightforward to link up all three items (read manual) 3. Software download no probs, and uploading workout info automatic 4. Footpod secure on shoe - if you want to measure distance/speed or pace, then the footpod works a treat. Dont need expensive GPS model. 5. watch has all necessary functions - laps, interval timer, even tells the time! 6. so far so good - all items have replaceable battery

Easy to use and a great aid to running. Signal is brilliant where I am but can imagine it could disappear in dense wood or town area. But then take the warnings in the reviews and move up a model or two to improve this minor problem. Enjoy!

This bit of kit is brilliant, I need to be able to look down and get a grid for my current location instantly and this does that for me. Unfortunately I have now lost 2 units because the bloody pins that retain it to the strap are far too weak. I'm buying a third but make sure you use duct tape or something!

I have just got my Forerunner today and have given it a good go. This is my first GPS watch and I think its amazing. I don't like the heart rate monitors which I have had with other watches so I bought my 405 without it. I have found the watch very easy to use and it connects quickly to my computer. It also charges very quickly to. When I uploaded the data and looked at the google earth map it did show a slight error. It showed that I was running in a hedge and in the middle of the road at points but I was actually running on the path a couple of feet away. I have checked the route and it is pretty much the same distance, so this really doesn't make much difference. I found it accurate and worth buying. However I have read reviews on the watch being poor compared to the cheaper 305 ... Read More:

Used the Forerunner 301 for the first time after it arrived today and I am extremely impressed. Downloaded the latest Training Center software and this works flawlessly on 64 bit Vista. The interface with Google Earth is a superb addition and proved the accuracy of the GPS - easily within the <10m tolerance as specified. I ran along beaches, a riverside and roads and all the GPS plots of my run matched in Google Earth spot on. This obviously means that the speed/pace readings will also be accurate and with the excellent totally flexible editable workout facility this is going to be a big motivator to get me back out training regularly to get me fit for Windsurfing.
