This is a cheap 8GB usb memory stick, formatted in FAT32, just what I needed for backing up work from my netbook.

It installed automatically in Windows XP.

There are no security features (at this price, not surprising), but I suppose in XP or Vista you could put your file(s) in a zip folder and assign a password if you're concerned about that.

A small LED flashes when data is being saved or accessed.

Other customers have commented on excessive p&p charges, but this seems to have been sorted; I payed a basic price with free p&p.

Bought two of these and had to have both replaced for sub-spec speeds. Trouble is the replacements are no faster. Corsair now points to my system but I tried this on four completely different systems and against my old Lexar stick using HDbench: I get RandomWrite in the 350kb/s region. A 1MB file already takes several seconds, a backup of a few good files can easily take twenty minutes. My four year old 1 GB Lexar stick is three times faster according to HDbench and gets to about 1000kb/s. I consider my Voyagers to be e-garbage.

I recieved a maxtor hard drive but i dont think it makes a great deal of difference. I was surprised at how quiet this hard drive is, compared to my old pc's hard drive. If you need a cheap but reliable hard drive then you wont be disappointed with this. (note: no instructions or SATA cables come with this drive).
Also as the title says vista rated the drive as 5.9 (the highest attow)

Electronics : Kingston Technology 1GB DataTraveler USB Flash Pen Drive
When I first bought my Kingston DataTraveler 1G at a bargain price, I thought "what's the catch?". Well, after several months, I found out. It corrupts data! No, I couldn't believe it either. I kept getting strange errors with files I copied, so I did a test. Took a ~150MB video file, copied it to the drive, then used fc (file comparison) to check the copy against the original. It found 24 bytes were different! Absolutely astonishing. Used XP to fully check the file system but it found nothing wrong. Repeated the test with two more large files, with similar results.

Don't use these devices as a backup for anything you need to keep intact. If you don't mind the odd playback glitch in video or music, then they might be worth the risk. Mine's ... Read More:
