Great board for both overclockers and gamers, FSB speeds are insane if you know what you're doing, but requires voltmods if you seriously want to overclock your processor, only 4 phase power so the vdroop is horrendous.

The jumpers are a bit fiddly when enabling both PCI-E slots for crossfire, asus boards switch automatically without the need for jumpers, but at this price i can't grumble.

The board layout is really good from the view of cable management, keeps everything really tidy, my only wish is they had put a fan on the northbridge to keep it a little cooler.

I ran into a compatibility problem with this board, my Compro Videomate E800 wouldn't work, it was detected in windows but the drivers would't ... Read More:

Had this board running on my system for a couple of months now, and have had no problems at all. Initially before i bought it i was concerned about the fitting of the CPU fan as it looked extremley close to the chipset fan, But the CPU fan went in with room to spare. Other connections are well thought out and allow room for air to get round them. The documentation is easy to follow and explained clearly, all the connectors for the board (SATA/IDE, USB, Firewire..etc) are in with the motherboard.
But if your computer case came without mounting screws you'll need to buy the paper washers/screws and motherboard jackscrews to fit the board to the case.
I dont have any regrets getting this board.

I was upgrading my old machine and eventually decided to spend a little bit extra on my motherboard. This was what I went for.

It has as standard

SATA RAID - useful if you are after a bit of extra disk performance as you could create a stripe set and get additional throughput.

FirewireIntel x3500 integrated video - support shared system memory upto 384MB and DirectX 10for gaming. It only has HDMI and VGA outputs, but comes with an HDMI/DVI dongle.

Realtek Integrated Audio 7.1 sound.

Supports all modern processors (mine has a Q6700 2.66 Quad Core in)
Supports 8GB Ram in 4 slots (1066,800,667Mhz modules)
