Reliable DAB reception at last! And, no, I don't live in the Outer Hebrides, just north-west London, in a first-floor flat in a three-storey Victorian semi surrounded by tall trees, all of which has been enough to challenge FM reception on my old Aiwa boombox, and digital reception on my first DAB purchase, a Ministry of Sound radio/CD combo. The Pure One occasionally requires a quick retune (just press the 'station' button and wait a few seconds), but easily receives all the BBC channels, major local stations and a few novelty items (the 'Birdsong' channel is curiously diverting). i had it set up within 15 minutes of opening the box, and the sound quality with a DVD was amazing. the picture was pretty crisp too. unfortunately, only my 1st generation ipod nano is compatible, the ipod touch is not compatible wit the system. also, for a first time with a surround sound system, there are way too many buttons on the remote, so it is a bit complicated at first.This is great if you cant afford a higher priced one (like me) but if you can splash out get a better one.

We bought this with a new Ipod Classic 120gb on 22/09/08. It is brilliant. No problems with it at all. Music sounds great and we are really pleased. Highly recommended for the price.

Do NOT purchase this product if you have a new ipod nano 3rd generation (the tall thin ones that come in 8gb & 16gb). I have this and to be fair, it worked absolutely fine with my old nano (the short, fat one that was available in 8gb) but IT DOES NOT CHARGE the new generation nanos. Do not waste your money. If you have an older generation ipod however, these speakers are perfectly fine for the money.

Light and comfortable. Sound is very good. No problems with lack of bass as others have said. If you use these on a poor system then you will get poor sound. That may be the problem for people giving them no stars. I use them on my stereo & computer but I have tried them on my iPod and have no problems with sound levels. Perhaps iPod listeners like the volume a lot higher than I do. At £8.95 +p&p they are a very good buy.

Writing this 1 week after purchase and on the whole I am pleased with this unit. Spent weeks comparing this to the Klipsch etc, reading all reviews.... and in the end just gave up and went for this (the DAB clinched it). Pros: very high quality weight and feel to it * Sound is very good (I was maybe expecting too much from reviews) * seperate BASS and Treble controls (I ramped the Bass up as i felt it was missing at default setting) * No transformer on lead (Didnt want an ugly brick sitting on worktop next to cable - cant remember which competitor has that on theirs?) I took a while before I wrote this, because for me, long term product quality is important. 3 months after purchase the volume control is crackling. These problems are progressive and I'm sure given another 3 months the speakers will be unuseable. I guess I'll soon find out what creative's returns policy is like.

The internet radio is absolutely brilliant! I bought it as a gift for my mother who lives in an area with no DAB signal. To be honest it took a few goes to get it up and running, however once we had it going it has worked brilliantly. The sound is great, and the fact that you can get the radio we listened to growing up in SA is just super. Mother has never been so happy with a radio! And she gets to listen to all her cd's that we burnt to a flash drive - as there is a nifty little usb port in the front. Buy one!!

Excellent sound, as the other reviewers have mentioned. Crisp and full. However, I was quite surprised at how good the build quality is, given the price. One thing to possibly consider is that the tilt on the satellite speakers cannot be adjusted and is angled slightly upwards in the plastic mould (in order to project the sound better) - but this is such a minor point it's probably not even worth mentioning. Superb buy.

I was looking for a desktop speaker set for my laptop and mp3 player. Seeing the ratings and reviews, I decided to go for this one and I must say you get really a good quality set of speakers for this value. Good design, I like the big remote control which grips the surface of your desk. I'm no sound expert but I can say the bass feels really clear and basically you enjoy what you're listening to on loud or less volumes clearly. I'm using this for my tiny room which is around 5*5 meter but I guess it also would do good in a large living room for a possible house party. Go for it!
