Im thinking of buying this but its to replace my old Sony 5.1 system that i plug my 360 into. I notice you say there's no way of plugging the 360 into this system but the specs say it has an Optical in so Why don't you use that ?

Anyone looking for a decently priced home theatre system should consider the Samsung HT-TZ315R as it delivers good quality surround sound, is easy to assemble/set up and can be bought for less than £250. With my old system I was constantly changing the settings in an attempt to give me a decent home theatre experience. Having assembled and set this system up in less than 2 hours I put Saving Private Ryan on. This had been recently saved from SKY MOVIES and as I had connected my SKY+HD box using the optical in I was expecting some good sounds from all the speakers. I can't recomend Squeezebox with ReadyNas. Half the time the controller can't find squeezecentre. This happens after periods of inactivity. Once you get it up and running which can be a process of turning the reciever off and taking the battery out of the controller, it's great. But it's too flaky at the moment. Hope these issues get sorted out soon or I might have to stamp on it !It's a pity.

Well, based on the other great reviews I just purchased this item and set it up with eager anticipation. What a disappointment! It feels and looks quite well built, everything worked straight out the box and even the remote works perfectly. The problem is with the sound. It's certainly got punch, but it's also lost quality. I'm playing classical music which I know sounds absolutely beautiful on the Bose...and it sounds maddeningly ordinary and dull on this. I tried to improve things by adjusting the treble / base but no matter how I set these the result was wrong. Frankly this amp is superb. In performance terms it's better than I'd hoped and it's excellent value for money. You'll need to spend a lot more to hear any significant improvement and for your average living room it's more than powerful enough. I've got a PS3, DVD (digital 5.1) and an old Sky box (stereo) attached and they all sound great.
