I have had this drive for about a week now and it seems to work really well. I paid £60 which seems good value but it's now a bit cheaper. It comes formatted as FAT32 so it's compatible with more systems, but I have reformatted it as EXT3 as I use Ubuntu (Linux) rather than Windows. (I could have used NTFS if I wanted to use it with both operating systems). I like the silicon plastic bits that protect each end of the disk and stop it sliding around on my glass top desk. It powers up and down automatically when I switch my laptop on and off which is handy. I have not tested how it copes with being accidentally switched off or unplugged while in use!

My TomTom ONE v4 (Traffic Europe 22) worked straight out of the box - very intuitive, (anyway, it's easy to pop into a high street store and ask for a demo first). Once home it was simple to connect the tomtom to my PC, although it didn't immediately connect to TomTom Home - I had to go into My Computer and find the "install.exe" file on the device and start it off by clicking that. Once connected to TomTom Home an updated European map set was immediately offered, which I downloaded. Note: this was an 850MB file and took some 3 hours on my PC with a 1Mbit broadband; BE SURE NOT TO DISCONNECT YOUR TOMTOM DURING THIS DOWNLOAD, and if you have a dodgy internet connection wait until it's stable. Bought this camera to use in school with 6 year olds. It is so easy to use and the photos are excellent. There is even a setting which rectifies shaky hands so now the children can photograph their own work with great results. All in all a great buy.

When I first saw this with its plastic flexy legs I had my doubts whether it would be steady enough. But reassured by the enthusiastic reviews bought one, and discovered my initial reservations were justified. I used it with my Sony R1 and Ricoh GX100 and find it flexes and wobbles too much to be much of an advantage over careful hand holding and bracing the camera against walls, lampost etc. So since it's not all that small I find myself leaving it at home quite a lot.

Brought this with my new v4 and it fits the unit very well. Case is good quality and does the job. However I was disapointed to find out that it will not take the v4 removable windscreen mount. The whole idea of the new mount is that you can take it with you so why won't it fit in the case?!?!?!

My brother recently got a Pixma 6600D and asked me to order a set of 6 carts. Having an account with Amazon I thought these were a good price but ouch - the postage ended up MORE than the price of the cartridges. OK, I should have checked before clicking confirm but when postage on a small package tends to be a few pounds I expected something below a fiver. Having had a heart attack I would feel guilty passing on the postage cost in full so I shall now end up out of pocket thanks to the unclear cost.

The quality of scanning is appalling. Save the money and take your slides to a shop and have them scanned. I bought this to scan old family slides for my Dad. I was really looking forward to receiving it and was extremely disapointed by the results. I am sending it back, it is not fit for purpose. The only good thing about it is the packaging.

I am not a photographic expert, but a novice who has been eager to upgrade from compact cams to a DSLR for a long time. Consequently I did a lot of research prior to investing in my D40 recently, and I am very happy with my decision. Sure, if you are willing to spend considerably more money you will get a better camera, but it is foolish to think that you would also automatically get better pictures! If you can do without certain 'bells & whistles', like liveview or bracketing for instance, then this camera gives you all you need to take great photos. Also don't assume that an 8 or 10 megapixel camera is 'better' - 6 is more than enough unless you want to enlarge your photos to poster size, or you want to crop your pictures heavily without losing ...
