Electronics : Motorola F3 Sim Free Mobile Phone - Black
I bought this as a spare phone and it is really quite basic. BUT if you are after a phone that you can make and receive calls on, and text a little then it's exactly for that. Battery power is ok. I have it on all of the time, and it doesn't need recharging for about 5 days.

It was a shock though - so don't expect to be able to see your sent texts, or save drafts, and be mindful that the memory for texts seems to be just 10 - so if you're over that, you won't get the next texts coming through until you've deleted the old ones. The phonebook is also very basic, but then my expectations were too high overall, I'll admit that.

You get what you pay for.

What I would say in brief about the iPhone is this: believe the hype. It works seemlessly, it's achingly gorgeous to look at and performs excellently. The GPS is actually very useful and has saved me a few times from getting lost.

But it isn't perfect by any means.

The battery life is not great. It's obviously full of clever (and energy-sapping) features like 3G and GPS, but with even relatively limited use you'll be charging this on average every one and a half days. You can turn down the brightness and do other things to conserve power, but they only have a limited effect. This also means that all those lovely applications you can download only have limited play life before your battery starts to drain. Having said ... Read More:

I've had this handset for around 6 months and I reckon I still haven't discovered all it has to offer! Upsides - superb all-round entertainment handset, camera clarity, video calling, memory, websurfing, display of webpages and Nokia/Google Maps (clear satellite images), movies are displayed really well, the N-Gage gaming platform is great.

Downsides - abysmal battery life, weightiness (brick in pocket springs to mind!), camera takes an age to warm up and get focussed, inner keypad is on the small side, no card slot. It isn't really a good business phone (organiser is a bit basic, difficult to master typing emails and stuff on that miniscule keypad). Other than that (hope I haven't put you off!) it's a beautiful handset!

Electronics : Palm Treo 680 Sim-Free Smartphone
My Palm T3 was on its 2nd battery and my urge for a an Apple iPhone was growing. I read all the reviews on poor battery life and had been tracking the Treo 680 as an Amazon favourite for over a year watching the price carefully. When the Treo 680 was offered at £99 I couldn't resist and placed my order.

My purchase is now 3 months old and I totally delighted. With Bluetooth and Phone off the Battery life is excellent (4-6 days between charge). Even with the phone on, the battery life is not a problem and easily better than my old T3.
I found rehosting of the old software from the T3 to the new 680 reasonably painless.
The Documents to Go software gives 1st class editable access to MS WORD and EXCEL files. The PDF viewer is slow ... Read More:

This phone feels very light and toy-like but seems near indestructible. I've used it for a year and a half and the battery still lasts me for over a week with me leaving it on constantly, texting a few times a day and talking now and then. Without using it, for example when I've had it for emergencies only on holiday, the battery lasted for over a fortnight.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of more modern phones but it's good at getting a clear signal, speakers are loud and clear, microphone makes my voice clear to other people and it's easy to navigate. Good for people who want a phone, not a fashion accessory that needs to be pampered and wrapped up in your handbag.

I received one of these recently as a work phone, and as a work phone it is perfect. All I need to do is make and receive calls, and possibly read/send the odd text message. And it does those with ease, after all they are the core functions of the phone - and the battery is phenomenal, days after a charge it is still chugging on!

I've given this three stars as compared to other phones out there it lacks in many areas, but for anyone wanting a simple phone for basic use then this is an excellent option. I recently reviewed a high end smartphone, I can't expect this phone to compare with that, and I wouldn't want it to. This feels refreshingly easy to use after I've been using the smartphone, and it's the sort of phone that my dad would feel comfortable ... Read More:

Electronics : Sony Ericsson K800i Sim Free Mobile Phone - Black
I bought this phone at the beginning of the year for what seemed like a snip - £70 in argos, which makes me think that this phone is certainly overpriced here. However, after nine months, I've given up the phone and went back to buying Samsungs as I had always done in the past. For whilst the phone is still in reasonably good order, both my boyfriend and my sister who had the same model of phone have noticed that the number buttons and the joypad have both started sticking; in fact, my boyfriend had such a problem with his that he had to pay to get it repaired.

That is without a doubt a major problem with the phone, and perhaps one which Sony Ericsson should maybe look into in future, because I doubt that it was just coincidence. Having said that, all the ... Read More:

Iv had this phone for 3 years and never had a single problem with it, i've read other reviews which complain about texting being slow/no automatic captials etc but this doesnt really bother me.
my only issues are:
the battery life isnt that great
the camera takes rubbish pictures in low light

apart from that, its stylish, easy to use and has never crashed (for me)
although im not exactly a hardcore phone user lol i dont use bluetooth/wap

none of my friends or family can control it with the hyper sensetive touch pad but thats fine by me i can use it :D
