This is a great compact camera. It just sits on your palm snugly. The camera looks and feels solid but not too heavy in the pocket. It is also fast and responsive when taking pictures. The quality of the picture is beyond expectation from a point and shoot compact. If you are the regular SLR user but get fed up with the bulky camera then this compact camera would be the great alternative. The viewing LCD is big without the touch screen which is great as the touch screen would eventually get 'tired' and unresponsive with use anyway. All the ISO associated noise etc are all common problems with any compacts anyway but in day to day 5x7 prints and web use, it gives really great pictures. There is even a histogram too! Greta camera very sturdy on your wrist and a great price tp. pictues normally good but can be shaky at times video is excellent and audio is good!

This is a superb digital SLR! Ok, it's not one for the professionals, but for the vast majority of us going about our every-day photography it's very capable. It has a great optical zoom lense, and you can switch between looking through the electronic viewfinder, and the screen on the back. There are also manual exposure modes on it, but I rarely use these. The resolution is adequate for photos and computer screen browsing without being so much that photos are slow to be transmitted. In think all in all this is a great camera, and it's very affordable!

Uppers: Very light & compact, you can keep it inside your pocket and you will forget about it. Very easy to use, took me 10 minutes to figure the camera out. The price is cheap and the movie capture is not bad. Downers: One big downer was, alot of my photos came out smudged, which showed perfectly on the camera, but when I copied the pics to my PC, it was blured and smudge, so technically speaking the shutter speed is slow. The digital zoom isn't as good as I expected. The viewer is dead simple, with no indication of battery life or nothing. The digital zoom only works in LCD view mode, which sucks battery life. My S5000 received a slight Knock whilst in its fully padded case Now In camera mode the screen is just White with or without the lens cap on it is just over 18 months old and all though in immaculate external condition it is considered to be " beyond economic repair". So be warned take Extra Care of your Fuji Camera or get it Fully insured.

Having owned this camera for some three years all I can say is it's brilliant I'll not get rid of it until I have to, and would buy another if needed The decals around all the switches wears off after a few years of hard use though, but bearing in mind I've taken upwards of ten thousand pictures you might think that was reasonable Buy one, it's pukka!

I hope this review doesn't come too late, as this camera is technically obsolete by now... When I came to choose a digital camera, I gave a deal of thought about what I would miss in my old SLR. I concluded that one thing would be those long lens shots, with their dramatic perspective, so I looked for a camera with at least a 6x zoom (200mm 35mm equivalent), which immediately reduced the choice to about two, and I settled on the Fuji 6900. And I've been extremely pleased with it. I've had it for about 4 months, and taken 1,000's of pictures. The first thing you notice about this camera is that while it might look a bit big and clunky in pictures, in reality it isn't at all.
