I find the August USB Tv receiver fantastic! It's a nice gadget at an attractive price. It works perfectly fine on my IBM. The set up was very simple following the instruction. The blazevideo software is easy to use and the interface looks cool with a bundle of different features!
I use the supplied aerial since I don't have a rooftop aerial. I assume the freeview signal where I live will be good as I am living in London zone 2. Given the price is cheap I thought it is worth a go.
It came up about 52 channels on the EPG list included 8 or 9 radio channels. I am very glad as it has most of the channels I like: ITV1-3 Sky sports news, E4+1, Sky Three, Five, Five US BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 BBC news 24,Sky news 24, and some shopping channels ... Read More:

I bought this product mainly to use as a digital video recorder on a laptop connected to my main television.

The product is easy to install (follow the instructions carefully about the device driver installation...) and the supplied software packages feel professional.

The recording function works well producing standard MPEG files that can be viewed through either the supplied software or through Windows Media Player. It looks as if recorded TV takes about 1Gbyte per hour of recording.

Because of the area I live in, I haven't attempted to use the supplied aerial, however when connecting to the normal roof aerial I get all the channels that I would normally expect to receive and the picture quality, even when ... Read More:

This is a magic device and I loved it immediately. I can now watch and record my favourite TV shows in perfect quality on my new laptop. The set up was easy and straightforward. I could not get any channels using the small antenna provided, which is not a surprise for me as the Freeview switchover in our region will be 2012. Fixing to an ordinary roof aerial it easily picked up 68 Freeview TV and radio channels, amazing! The remote is very handy. The device can also be scheduled to record TV programs at a particular time in case you are not in. Overall, I am very pleased and look forward to spending a lot of time with it.

Hauppauge WinTV HVR1100 - Vista ready Hybrid PCI TV Tuner. Analogue / Digital freeview TV on your PC!

This was a waste of money and a huge disappointment. It is installed on PC with a dual core processor & 3gbytes+ of memory, running Vista and it runs like a dog. Most of the time it can't find the digital stations, and on the analogue stations the lipsync is all over the place. I should have returned the item as not fit for purpose, but never got around to it.

If like me you have wasted good money looking for a USB TV stick that works with Windows Media Center in Vista, then look no further. The Hauppauge WinTV-Nova-T works perfectly. Just install the drivers provided on disk and away you go. Can't tell you about the WinTV software as I didn't install it, but it does work well with Total Media 3 software, which I also use.

The EPG for this seriously sucks! So many people cannot get it to work.....but hey, they have your money by the time you find out it looks like its been designed for Win98 and behaves like its from that era.

I certainly will not buy from Hauppauge again which is a shame as the card is quiet good just I cant program nothing unless I do it manually.

Hauppauge get your act together!!!!!!

Got this free when i bought a mac, and i still hate it!! All the software instals really fast and sets up easily, but getting a picture is the hard part. Even in a well covered area the small antenna picks up hardly any channels, only 4 i got. If you're buying because it picks up freeview channels, don't get your hopes up, it struggles to get a picture you can only just make out for bbc 1, bbc 2, itv and five, freeview channels are hopeless. Invest in a mini tv or something, this product is not the way to go!!! If you plug it into your main house arial i'm sure it'll be great, but not with the small antenna provided!!!

Already having an unused copy of EyeTV Lite, I worked out from cruising the Internet that this product might provide a cheaper but identical tuner to re-badged others offered for the Mac. And it does.

The combination of this and EyeTV software is very nice. Minor annoyance on the Program Guide, but otherwise it's excellent.

I bought this primarily so i could use my old dreamcast on my tft monitor as i dont own a tv - this works fantastically. however, one of the ways to set it up involves running the vga to your pc through this box (so you dont always have to swap leads). i checked compatable resolutions, but i could not get this feature to work at all (so PiP was out of the question). other than that, great product, especially for the price.

I'm sure Hauppauge have themselves a nifty bit of hardware, but it's badly let down by the lack of technical support. I had this as a Christmas present, so I followed all the instructions, and put in the CD which installs all the software. Immediately it came up with some errors, so I thought okay, let's continue with the installation and see what happens. Once I tried to run the WinTV software it was telling me a DLL file was missing (it's on the CD, just not in the right location on my hard-drive as I discovered after doing some googling). So I copy it from the CD manually to the file in my windows directory, and get past that error only to have the infamous HTV=0 error. Even the manual mentioned something about this fault so it can't be uncommon. I checked the hardware and it said it was installed and ... Read More:
