Hey You Guys, Just a word of advice, dont use Windows Vista.... Its ''says'' its compatible.. yes.. it is.. BUT.. you need to use the Installation CD which comes with it FOR THE DRIVERS.. However.. Once You Do That.. you can only transfer 5MB Data tops... The CD is a evaluation version... i complete waste of time.. unless you're transferring things under 5MB ... i certainly dont recommend using Windows Vista. Windows XP on the other hand, you dont need to installation CD.. and for some REALLY strange reason.. it automatically installs the REAL and PROPER version of the software you need.. BUT.. without the 5MB limitation, you can transfer any amount of files.. Please.. to save yourself .. use Windows XP ... Read More:

I bought this from MHP Computer Services; given that this is a generic item, my comments might not apply those supplied by other vendors. Although the item description doesn't mention a driver CD, it did in fact come with a mini-CD in the packaging. But there were no instructions and the CD contained drivers for about a dozen different products, with no indication which was which. Eventually I worked out that I needed to run "USB TO RS232.exe" in the directory "\DRIVER\DATA CABLE DRIVER\USB Interface Link DRIVER\USR2309A(PL-2303)" before plugging in the cable. Then when you plug in the cable Windows automatically installs the correct drivers, and you can access the serial port. On my machine it was listed ... Read More:

Bought this to connect an old parallel HP LaserJet 4L printer up to a brand new Windows Vista machine. There are plenty of stories around about Vista not recognising parallel printers plugged and having to play around with drivers and setting ports to USB in printer properties but happily I had none of that. Connected the LaserJet to a USB port using this cable and everything worked straight away from the start, no probs at all. What more could you ask for?!
