I've only had this router a day but so far so good. I cannot comment on reliability but no dropped connections as yet. I bought the Netgear router because my old Zyxel P660HWt1v2 router wouldn't allow any ports to be forwarded (even though it should) to my PS3 - which meant some of my multiplayer games wouldn't work online. Apparently, uPnP (universal plug and play standard, for port forwarding) is not the most robust or reliable of standards therefore for some games/applications ports must be forwarded manually (or your PS3 put in the DMZ of your router, although DMZ is not recommended as it exposes your PS3 to hackers). With the Netgear Router I still have the same problems with certain games not working online using uPnP - it's not the ... Read More:

I've had this product for over a year and have had sporadic levels of reliability. As the senior tech at Apple advised me yesterday, the 'N' standard used in this product still isn't approved, and is unlikely to be signed off before next year or even 2010. Had it not been for the fact that I'd received the same feedback from Talk Talk I probably would have taken this inf with a pinch of salt but it does make me wonder why Netgear sells product which don't (apparently) belong to a common standard. Incidentally, I have also experienced the same issues with a PC and the matching card. Netgear have some of the best Customer Service I've come across, it's just a shame their products don't match similar quality standards. What a shame that I've had ... Read More:

Seems a really good product. It was up and running within a couple of minutes of unpacking and the connections speed seems fine. I have used this to replace a wireless network with dodgy signal strength. I wish I's done it sooner.

But i am using it wired as on wireless its unreliable on any modem for gaming but the laptop is great for internet surfing.
Highly recommended

I chose this item on the basis of the overwhelming number of favourable reports. Indeed it does seem to do the job well. My only criticism is that the description and functions of the front panel LED displays in the set-up manual, in the set-up procedure and on the device itself are inconsistent. This misled me, so causing considerable delay in what could have been a 20-minute set-up time as claimed. Anyone using the Wizard for setting up should NOT expect the LED, variously referred to as "Internet" or "test", to light up when the DG834 is initially connected up to the ASDL line, the Ethernet port and the power lead.

This is a great device. It allows you to capture all of your handwritten notes (taken during meetings, presentations etc) onto your PC. You don't have to have it hooked up all the time - it can store up to 50 pages of stuff on it. When you do connect, it asks you if you want to upload your notes, and then deletes it off the device. When its on the PC, you can organise in the software however you like; I have mine based on customer, and the software adds the date onto the note. If you want to/need to, you can use the provided software to convert to text for documents, online call reports, emails etc. Best of all, it doesn't require any special paper or any special ink.

If it has a down side, then it would probably be the recognition software, particularly ... Read More:

I've had a WRT 54GL for 12 months and it has run flawlessly.

My only complaint is the fiddly setting up of MAC address filtering (that limits access to specific PCs). This requires you find out and type in the 12 character MAC address for each PC. Using the MAC address stuck to the bottom of my machine didn't work - turns out my machine has two MAC addresses.

The solution is to pull up the command prompt window and type "getmac" (without quotes). That will give you several MAC addresses and you can feed all these to the Linksys and it will be happy since one of these will be the one it wants.

Netgear, in my experience a less reliable router, has a better interface for MAC filtering. It shows you the MAC addresses of all the PCs currently ... Read More:

10.BT Voyager 2110 Wireless ADSL Router from: BT Telephones

Electronics : BT Voyager 2110 Wireless ADSL Router
This is my third router, the previous ones being Belkin and Netgear, and both became faulty after a period of use. I have had the Voyager for about seven months, so I can't vouch for its long term performance, but the performance within that period has been exceptionally good. Firstly, the Internet connection has NEVER dropped out. It has been switched off when I have been away from home occasionally and on switching on again it recaptures the broadband signal within about half a minute without my touching it. The other two both had occasional drop outs and had to be rebooted. Secondly the signal strength right at the top of my three storey Victorian house is more than twice as strong as it was with my earlier routers. The wireless card in the upstairs PC reports 75% signal as against ... Read More:
