i have had this printer (bought from amazon) for 6 months. i had to give up a lovely epson that had never let me down as it wouldn't work with my new Mac. the very good reviews the nice customers at amazon gave this machine prompted me into its purchase above a new epson 680. the scanner is great. it has beginner and advanced user status and is very easy to format. the prints are super fast although the colour management is not so compatible with the new iMac's monitor, eg, the prints don,t look like they do on the screen. but then i take my work up to a local print shop and they use PC's and the colour saturation is always an issue. i have to drop the saturation by 25% to print out what i see in front of me. altering the colour ... The quality of scanning is appalling. Save the money and take your slides to a shop and have them scanned. I bought this to scan old family slides for my Dad. I was really looking forward to receiving it and was extremely disapointed by the results. I am sending it back, it is not fit for purpose. The only good thing about it is the packaging.

I received my 4400f very fast, Thank you Amazon. but,,, I am having trouble trying to use the Clone tool. After scanning the document I click on the clone window, and try to use it, Then a small window keeps popping up saying, "please shift + click," I have tried shifting,, left mouse clicking, every thing possible, but that window pops up every time I click my mouse, I even re-loaded the whole programme again as per the book, Please help, Regards,,,,, George,,

Having grown sick and tired of ink-jet printers, I decided to have a look at lasers and was pleasantly surprised by the price of the P1005. I only need basic black and white capabilities, and thanks to the previous reviewers' comments, it was a bit of a no-brainer when it came to making a decision! I'm not disappointed. The P1005 doesn't take up much room, it look fairly solid, the software is quick and easy to install (I'm running Windows XP) and the print quality is excellent. Okay, it's a bit noisy (but no more so than my ink-jet) and the paper does warp very slightly (I haven't tried better quality paper yet - so maybe it's just down to the cheap brand I've been using so far) and it doesn't come with the necessary USB cable. If you buy this printer to do cards (like I did) then you'll be disappointed, as it will not print on card. I did get ONE sheet of card through (after 20 or so attempts) and had to push it hard, just at the right time, to get it to go through - and it printed OK, but cannot get another piece of card through to finish my project. What baffles me is that it will take it round the roller when you are told to press the button after it has stated "paper jam" - sometimes even stopping at the correct place to start printing, but after a pause it then pushes it all the way out, like it would if had printed on it. Apart from that it prints on photo paper excellently and the quality of colour photos (even with cheap refill ink in the sample cartidges) is excellent. ... Read More:

This is excellent value for money. After a few hours fiddling with it to try and get it to work (the instructions were'nt very good)I got it working. I have spent hours and hours sorting through hundreds of old 35mm negatives of my wonderful mum and dad who are both now gone. I now have them both captured forever on disc. I'm just sorry I can't show them, they would love it. By editing the photos on screen, some of them are clearer than the original photos. Good value for money, recommeded.

Bought this on the strength of two things - reviews and price. Couldn't be more pleased with it. OK it's not the best in the world but for my purposes it fits the bill very well. Didn't cost the earth, scans documents and film at a very acceptable quality and has sufficient user control to make it that bit more flexible without being at all difficult to operate.

This is a good little printer with a small footprint, good build quality, very easy set-up, the reassurance of HP reliability, and a design that is easy on the eye. It took me only a few minutes to set up, following HP's step-by-step instructions, and immediately delivered a good quality print. It was recommended by a technician friend as worth the few extra pounds it costs compared with its cheaper rivals and I have not been disappointed. A 'kettle lead' to connect the printer to the mains is supplied. If you do not already have a current-style printer cable (4 pin USB type A to 4 pin USB type B) you will need to buy one.

I'm really impressed with this scanner but, as a Mac user, was extremely disappointed by the software Canon supply with it - some seriously old editions of ArcSoft PhotoStudio and OmniPage SE, both of which are PowerPC editions. They are so old that the suppliers won't offer any support; upgrading to newer versions costs over £110. I got rid of my old HP scanner because their software support was so poor and now find myself in the same situation with Canon. It's a real shame, but this cheapens the product - beautifully made, but with ancient software.

This printer is very nice. A very good scanning and copying function, with a very thorough set-up process. The printer is very quick and efficient with good ease of use with just the press of a button. The printer also has a fax function but I have never bothered to set that up. The only problem I do have with it though is that it uses quite a bit of ink, and the ink isn't cheap. For the price it is at now is very reasonable; it is of very good build, and looks expensive. The unit itself though is quite large and takes up a bit of room. It does also need a USB cable but they are a few pounds also on amazon!
