I purchased this camera to use for telephone conversations on Skype. The picture quality is fine but the microphone is absolutely useless, you cannot hear anything at all. Because of this I had to spend more money on a microphone. Do not buy this webcam if you want to use it for more than visual purposes. If you want a cheap webcam with ok picture quality then this is the camera for you.

I have Vista and wanted a cheap, but decent webcam to work in Skype and Live Messenger. I installed the software, connected the camera and it works. Can't say fairer than that. It fits onto just about any monitor - TFT, laptop or whatever.

I was a bit worried about one of the reviews saying it was difficult to get this webcam up and running. I no expert on computers but I had no problems with it and was using it within a matter of minutes. In fact I'm ordering another for a friend

This is a great little camera! The picture quality is brilliant for 1.3mp's too. I mostly use mine to communicate with my gf who is currently studying away from home. Her student accommodation is a little dark and murky but the cam automatically compensates for this and provides a good clear picture...we both use the same cam btw! Also, The built-in microphone allows for communication to be transferred flawlessly with hardly any time-delay between speech and video movement. There's also a manual focus dial which can be altered by turning the disc around the lens, very simple to use indeed! Well its a good webcam but my daughter records videos for you tube of her singing but the webcam does not work with windows movie maker which is a real shame but over all its an ok webcam. Its nothing great just a normal webcam that has an ok picture.

Having read a review I bought this to use with my laptop. It may have a built in microphone but I am unable to use it as when I have the USB lead plugged in one side of my laptop the microphone lead doesn't reach the socket the other side. No instructions come with this webcam, it assumes you know what you're doing. Although I'd read claims that it could be used without the driver software that came with it I couldn't get it to work at all without. The add ons that came on the CDROM didn't appear to recognise that I had the camera attached. Can't fault the supplier though they offered a full refund if I returned it.

Great webcam works great on my daughters laptop which is with Vista. not much else to say except well done microsoft.

I bought this based on reviews on Amazon. I guess the others have had a good experience but mine has been awful. I have worked in IT and with comp[uters for over ten years and know what to expect. This device has worked and can work but will stop working sporadically. Sometime the webcam will work, sometimes the microphone will work but rarely both. A search for latest drivers will produce a message "no drivers available" but when you search on the logitech site you find updated drivers. But these don't help. I will be getting another webcam, different brand.

Firstly service from Amazon was excellent. Having read a few reviews of this item took the advice of installing the latest software version from the Logitech website rather than use the enclosed CD. Once software installed plugged in camera when instructed and waited a few minutes. As previously advised by other reviewers this does take a few minutes but just be patient. After this followed link to install Skype and was up and running in minutes. Camera and microphone quality both excellent. Relatives in New Zealand could even tell the colour of my baby son's eyes. Only negatives stand needs more base weight (will probably put some Playdough to sort this out) and clip for top of laptop pretty poor.
