Navman S30 3D Satellite Navigation Unit With UK & Ireland Mapping The only way I could think of to measure the accuracy of the Navman S30 unit was to set it up with a trip I was familiar with, but rather than going out in the car I put it into demo mode. I setup home, and then setup a favorite destination - both very simple. It found the postcode, but not the house of my destination - so I put in 16 rather than 15 - no big deal. The unit was in default (i.e quickest, motorways, etc), and it had no problem getting to the destination town. Hi, Just thought i'd leave a quick review for the Garmin Forerunner 50 inc USB ANT Stick. I bought this item from Amazon along with footpod, heart rate monitor and bike GSC10 speed sensor. As usual Amazon delivery was faultless, all arrived safe ontime and well packed. The Product, well i have to say the instructions with the watch are not the best, but within an hour i had everything setup for my profile on the watch and using the Garmin Training center software (quick download from there site) on my pc laptop. PC software drivers all loaded first time and very quickly and very simple to understand the Training Center application. My TomTom ONE v4 (Traffic Europe 22) worked straight out of the box - very intuitive, (anyway, it's easy to pop into a high street store and ask for a demo first). Once home it was simple to connect the tomtom to my PC, although it didn't immediately connect to TomTom Home - I had to go into My Computer and find the "install.exe" file on the device and start it off by clicking that. Once connected to TomTom Home an updated European map set was immediately offered, which I downloaded. Note: this was an 850MB file and took some 3 hours on my PC with a 1Mbit broadband; BE SURE NOT TO DISCONNECT YOUR TOMTOM DURING THIS DOWNLOAD, and if you have a dodgy internet connection wait until it's stable. The Garmin Nüvi 300 (which, by the way doesn't have bluetooth) does what it says. Reliable, easy to use, small and seems well built. Connects to a Mac, which in my world of 'ah...except it won't work on a Mac' deserves a mention in it's own right. One word of caution, this particular product is 'newly overhauled'. I have this very product and before it was newly overhauled I can only guess it was it was someone else's. Not a problem, as it looks brand new, you'd never know, unless you want to register it with Garmin and the previous owner already had. Not to worry though, after two emails and one scanned copy of my proof of purchase, they deleted the old registration and I now have mine registered with a free software update. Quick, painless ... I mainly use my TomTom ONE XL for geocaching, so I enter the destination latitude and longitude co-ordinates taken from an OS map and it's great. I don't find using a postcode as a desination is very accurate and it only takes you to the general area, however, directions over a long route are very good. I especially like the feature when it recalcultes another route within seconds if you divert from the recommened one for any reason. One annoying thing however is telling you to turn right when you are already on a main road and it's simply a right-hand bend with a junction on the left. It also will direct you up a dirt track occasionally, so you do have to use a bit of common sense, drive on and see what the recalculation tells you. Having the distance and arrival time ...
