Well, I have to say I am very pleased with this stereo. The sound is rich and full, and you can alter the bass/treble in addition to a DSGX button that lets you further enhance the sound quality rather than fiddling around with pre-set "sounds" such as jazz/rock/concert hall etc. I've had no trouble with the DAB radio at all - upon first installation of the unit, I switched it on and all the stations were found automatically with no problems at all. The unit has a 3CD disc changer in addition to a tape deck cunningly disguised/integrated behind/with the main LCD display - this is great! Just like so many others I have had problems with mine since basically day one. Awful machine this is. Very slow and sluggish at doing things and now saying NO DISC like so many others. This is the worst bit of kit I have bought in a very long time. I own Philips 48" Ambilight TV, Philips HD Recorder and this thing. The DVD HD recorder is not much better because discs get jammed all the time. Over the past few years I have spent £1000's on Philips stuff. NO MORE I TELL YOU. Would never buy Philips again FACT! DO NOT BUY THIS RUBBISH. Philips are supposed to "make things better". I beg to differ. This thing cost me over 300 quid not so long ago and is now only fit for the bin. The system fits well in our living room which is not very big. Easy to assemble and operate. Sound quality is good enough. The only down side is - lots of cables and wires which any system will have unless it is wireless. And the price is unbeatable. Over all a good deal

Good sound - not as good looking as the Bose but so what - major problem - the Bose was my Alarm clock... This thing on Standby must use an awful lot of power as it lights the room!!

This is an amazing bit of kit if you want to wirelessly link your iTunes to your stereo. Connection problems were eliminated by changing the broadcast channel so that it did not interfere with other wireless networks locally (including my own). I had the same problem with my Netgear wireless router and apparently the drop out is to do with interference if the channel number is near other networks as out of the box they default to the same channel. i hope this helps. I've had one of these for over 6 months now, paying £99 from Amazon. Overall, taking price into account, this machine does does have it's plus points, you get a DAB Tuner, FM Tuner, CD Player, Cassette Deck, and Speakers for less than £100. However, the build quality is a little flimsy, and there is only a 3 band pre programmed graphic Equaliser. There is a bass boost, but this just makes the Bass sound bloated and over emphazized. The speakers do sound better if you put spikes on them ( I know it sounds a bit strange doing this, these speakers are only about 6 inches tall but it does make a marked improvement in sound quality) or hang them on a wall. Had it a month now and am really happy with it. I downloaded the upgrade that adds the electronic program guide to the DAB radio and really can't think of a better system for the money I paid. It would have been nice to be able to record and play music to/from the USB slot but that's the only thing I can think to criticise it about. Highly reccommended.

Bought this little puppy a couple of days ago. I liked it because it's stylish and very different from the range of others that I looked at. It also has the name of JVC attached to it, which I trust from experience. From the box, it took me less than 10 minutes to put together. Within half an hour, the radio stations had self-tuned, and I was playing a CD. All working perfectly. DAB clarity great. I paid £89 for mine, and I just love it. No negative issues at all with it. Understated, a little minimalist, does just what I want. What more could you ask?

This sound system is absolutely unbelievable. For around £200 you WILL not get a better sound than this. I have had this for over 2 months now. And I've been using it for PS3, Blu-ray and DVD, and during nearly every film and game I get shivers purely because of the phenomenal sound this system produces. Plus it isn't so loud it disturbs your neighbours (however turn it up max and it probably would) It is incredibly easy to set up, just prop up your speakers and clip the wires to the control box. The remote allows you to adjust each speaker individually as well as adjust the settings for movies, games and music. It's so easy to use that no-one with any experience with a TV/remote couldn't figure it out. Buy this, and you will not regret it. ... Read More:
